NEW YORK TIMES

Saying No to Bush's Yes Men

By THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN
Published: May 17, 2006

Friedman: "President Bush has slipped in one recent poll to a 29 percent approval rating. Frankly, I can't believe that. Those polls can't possibly be accurate. I mean, really, ask yourself: How could there still be 29 percent of the people who approve of this presidency?"

Friedman: "What has eaten away most at the support for this administration, I believe, has been the fact that time and time again, it has put politics and ideology ahead of the interests of the United States, and I think a lot of people are just sick of it. I know I sure am."

I haven't agreed much with Friedman since Bush/Cheney invaded Iraq, but I agree with him on this... WHO ARE THESE 29 percenter IDIOTS? Can they walk and blink at the same time?

1. Nice quote...
...coming from an enabler like Tommie Boy.

Now all of a sudden nobody ever liked him or voted for him...

Sure Tommie Boy...Sure...

4. yep, you're right. tommie is classic "fair weather friend." Wasn't it
just yesterday he was crowing about the *crowds* in Iraq helping to pull down the saddam statue.

2. Let's face it, only a MORAN or a collaborator would still approve of the
job ANYONE in bushco* is doing. I'm with Friedman, how the hell can anyone approve of these evil bastards. And you know, it would be bad enough if it were just the evil factor. When you add in the *IDIOT* quotient, it just gets downright appalling.

3. I can't believe it either
Edited on Tue May-16-06 10:52 PM by rpannier
I'm thinking 24% is more accurate.

But let us not forget. They may be polling state mental wards, the psychotically homeless on the street, billionaire clubs, oil men and mega fundie churches.

9. I can't believe Thomas Friedman. That makes us even.
Phony bastard.

He rode in the Bush wagon until it got a busted wheel.

Now we're supposed to believe that Le Moustache has come over. Bullshit.

So Thomas "Windsock" Friedman has doubts. BFD.

Which Sunday show is he booked on for Sunday?

10. Friedman supported the Iraq War.
That's when I stopped reading him. And I won't give him a second chance, no matter what he says now.

Shut the f@#$ up, Tommy. Your credibility rating is 0 percent.

I'm glad Dubya is as popular as slime mold, but YOU were one of the sell-outs propping him up for so long. :grr:

15. I don't read his column
much anymore because he stopped making any sense after the Iraq invasion. I don't know if his views on Israel's safety influenced him or what. At this point he seems to be losing all credibility.
