Howard "Lying Fuck" Fineman on Hardball...
He just went off on a tangent about illegals and "the jobs Americans don't want to do."

Tweety interrupted him and said that "I see these guys all over my neighborhood, doing jobs that pay GOOD money...sheetrock, construction, painting...don't tell me about the low paying jobs. We know what's going on..."

Fineman got a shit-eating grin and sheepishly nodded his head.

:grr:

9. He wasn't agreeing with the "jobs Americans won't do" bit.
My suggestion is to look for the transcript when it appears tomorrow on MSNBC and read the comments in context of the overall conversation.

4. Exactly.
You hit the nail on the head.

Americans will do the work, but not at sub-poverty wages.

7. I agree
The assertion that illegal immigrants are only doing jobs American won't do is the biggest LIE in the entire debate. Illegal immigrants ARE forcing down wages for all American workers. Call them temp workers or illegals, the goal is to turn back the clock on 100 years of progress in safety and living wages by American workers.

11. The alarm bell went off when it became evident...
the Illegal Immigrants were doing jobs that American Citizens were doing but were being replaced by Illegal Immigrants. Before that it didn't seem to be a problem.

12. Yup
as long as they stayed in the lettuce fields things were just fine. But then employers from sausage factories discovered they could pay these people $7\hour, instead of paying a legal worker $15\hr.

Then the construction industry noticed that they could pay these folks $10\hour to pound nails, instead of $25\hr for union carpenters. By the time new home owners discovered that their new homes were\are built like shit, the contractors were\are long gone.

It pains most of us to realize that our own government is accomodating and actually promoting the downward spiral of wages and benefits for working, legal, citizens.

It truly is a race to the bottom, and the folks really being screwed by illegal immigration, are low and middle income legal citizens.
