Important! Entire Bush reaction to Colbert video posted! He's mad!
Edited on Wed May-03-06 09:43 PM by grasswire
Go here. The video of Colbert's performance is posted, but when it comes time to cut away to Colbert's audition tape, the camera stays focused on Bush for the entire duration of the video! Many minutes of glowering, snarking, frowning.

He's really, really, really pissed.

Can someone capture this and send it around?

30. Did you guys see the pResident's remark at 19:07??????????
Did anyone else see this?

At 19:07--the pResident turns to the guy on his left and says, "What did she say?"

The guy on the pResident's left explains that Helen said "You're going to be sorry"
Then Junior says something.

DO WE HAVE A LIP READER IN THE HOUSE?????

I've looked at this several times and it looks like Junior says, "I coulda told him that."

LOL!!!

(Also, at 20:35 during the clip--Bush asks the guy to the left of him, "Who's that?". Junior was asking, who the person was in the clip, who was running after Colbert after he dashed out of the press conference. Junior didn't know it was Helen. Just one more example of Junior being dense. So, no big whoop.)

38. This is THE best video on Colbert's speech!
I can't believe that ABC's camera was focused on Bush's face during the entire Colbert/Thomas video! Doesn't that say something about ABC's attitude -- they (the cameraman did have a director, didn't he?) were just as interested in Bush's reaction as we were!

Btw, the audience's laughter was much more apparent in this version than C-Span's.

44. bush's expressions
He looks angry, arrogant, crafty and unbelieving that anyone would have the courage to do what Colbert was doing. Colbert put it all on the table in front of bush and the rest of his cronies. Showing them that people were still asking these questions. Showing them that they could not keep hiding the truth.

many or most of the media in attendance are as guilty as bush. This was reflected in Colbert's line 'i hold these people in contempt too mr. president'. a brilliant line that reflects how Colbert feels, while reflecting what bush probably feels in his gut towards those who are too weak to stand up to him.

Bush's expression's show how truly evil he is, while totally weak without the Presidency.

Colbert was brilliant and funny. Only people wanting to hear the truth and who have some intelligence would understand the routine. Anyone saying this went too far is UnAmerican. This was one of the most American speeches heard in a long time.

Bravo Colbert. Bravo to a true, true hero with more courage than the cowards and traitors that now critisize the speech. These critics should hang their heads in shame. They have enabled so much destruction through their inaction.

What bullshit - bush was hurt by the speech. People are being killed by his policies. Should'nt the moron-in-chief be reminded by a true Patriot, since the sniveling cowards in the editorial pages of the WSJ, Washington Post, NYTimes, Fox News, NBC, ABC, et al, have their own treacherous heads up their asses (or bush's)?

53. raisin brain looks bored
and wondering how much longer he has 2 sit @ the table. I think raisin brain only finds humor when it is at the expense of another person - that's why he has degrading nicknames for everyone - the ultimate put-down - 'I don't have 2 know your name - I'll give you one'.

I always go back 2 Richard Clarke saying he has no curiosity. Colbert's satire is completely beyond chuckle-nut's comprehension - it doesn't fart; it's not a pants-ing nor a wedgie so he doesn't care - he has no sense of humor. Unless he is THE center, he has no interest.

62. that would be very interesting
I think it is significant that when the questioning starts, Bush has to pick up his glass of water. A typical bit of body language. Too bad we don't have an expert in that who can translate.

For me, as the survivor of domestic abuse at the hands of a narcissist, the expressions on his face are very telling. His aides said he looked as if he was "about to blow." I would say that's very true. Duck and cover.

I am still analyzing this Colbert speech as if it were Khomeini -- did you notice this oh so subtle joke:

''Mr. President ... guys like us, we're not some brainiacs on the 'nerd-patrol.' We're not members of the 'factonista.' We go straight from the gut, right sir? That's where the truth lies.''

I got the one's after that about * deciding on Miers never said he 'thought' he said he knew 'her heart' and so forth - I just hadn't gotten the TRUTH...LIES...

;)

70. Did you also notice whe he said Bush was a "Joe"
He didn't said a regular joe, he said "he's a good joe", so it sounded like he was going to say "joke" but he didn't.

58. Check out how fast he is breathing....watch the bow tie rise and fall.
Short fast breaths.
He is either pissed to the point of exploding...or he is loaded up with something (pharmaceutical).

61. Bush was more in control of himself than in the first debate
Bush clearly didn't find Colbert funny, but he did manage to sit quietly. His reactions in the first debate where he sometimes looked like he was considering attacking Kerry and where he was unable to keep a straight face were far far worse.

64. It seems to me as if Bush has temper problem
Really, that this guy is unable to keep a straight face or just smile when some relative nobody pulls a gaffe, in spite of his very extensive media and PR training, seems to be to be proof that he is a person who has trouble controlling his temper.

Colbert's performance was awesome! It took real courage

69. At about 19:35 or so, when he starts taking questions from Helen...
that's when Bush's face really starts showing it. Steaming!

I love that she gets to get to him, even when he thinks he's closed her out!

73. Notice B* sourly whispering into Colbert's ear
as Colbert walks to his seat after the speech?
I wonder what threats that spoilt little bully was making.

Watching b*'s face during the "audition" was like watching a puzzled lobster in a pot trying to work out what's happening. Until he realizes that his two greatest fears, Helen Thomas and questions about Iraq, are being brought up together. Then the poor boy sees he's been had and starts steaming.

This is why he wants to be dictator, so he can order future funny men dragged from the podium and slowly hung with piano wire.

79. In fairness to Smirky,
I don't think he can sit still for 20 min no matter what's going on - PDB warning of an imminent attack, emergency plan for a big hurricane, etc. Just having to pay attention to something for that long taxes his coke-addled brain.
