2. There are a lot of people who still believe this garbage...

They believe that they are so wonderful because they are americans, they don't care or even think about others in the world. They really believe that the waters were protecting us even after Pearl Harbor. They believe in the war movies and the wild west movies and they think because they have bombs and nuclear weapons they can control everyone. Technology has made it easier for other countries to fight us in so many ways. I am still astounded that people are now saying close the borders and the ports and we now feel unprotected.
When 911 happened and the anthrax attacks occurred I just sat their watching all of the faces of the republicons and I said they did it, I couldn't believe that no one said anything about how obvious it was where all of it was sent. One of the first thoughts I had after the attack was America will close the borders now. After that I would watch these shows and listen to both sides and I would be screaming HOW DO YOU THINK BUSH IS PROTECTING YOU WHEN THE BORDERS ARE OPEN! Thats when I said these people running this country are simple minded and full of shit!They really believe that the dumbest man to ever be called the president was running anything and that he was protecting them? And some continue to believe it! When he went and stood at the site in New York I got angry because I knew he was using that moment and this photo op would be on tv day and night. This -------- stood there acting like he was some hero and these stupid ass people believed that shit!

3. after reading this article

I did not feel squeaky clean, and also we have alot of skeletons in our closet. It is time for this divide between us and them to end, for them to listen to us. During the Vietnam war it was us against the establishment, looks like things have not changed too much. It is really frustrating.

7. So true, but his article (essay?) only scratches the surface

of the truth. We have been, and continue to be, the world's leading exporter of death and terror. The Muslim extremists are ineffective, rank armatures, compared to us.

We are the worlds biggest arms dealer. Every crisis, coup, and economic dislocation in South America has its roots in amerikan intervention. Every war we have entered was to benefit amerikan business interests (including WWII). Africa? Yep, our mess as well, even though the Europeans started it, we took their modest beginnings and escalated it to a never-ending war and imposed utter chaos for good measure. Just pick any crime against humanity in the last 150 years and look closely, you will find US $ are the underlying motivation of at least one side, and frequently both.

If we have the courage to, first acknowledge to ourselves, and then admit to the world, that we are, and have been, wrong, we might be able to begin the process of healing ourselves and the world.
