Why not Karen Hughes?
She knows how to twist and turn in attempts to make sense of Bush and she is already in the White House being paid for... what, exactly?

3. Karen would love to do it, but she's going to run a bowling alley in
El Paso instead.

She figured, Hell, I've got the bucks, and the celeb thing isn't going to hurt, and there's not a damn thing to do in El Paso anyway.

"Far Right Lanes" is set to open to the public on June 1st.

5. I actually predicted the same thing as you...
at my blog:

http://blogs.southflorida.com/citylink_dansweeney/2006/04/scott_mcclellan_we_hardly_knew.html

Like I say at my blog, "But the big question now is, who will replace McClellan? It'll probably be some apparatchik that we've never heard of, but if I had to bet on a known quantity, I'd wager on Karen Hughes. Even Tucker Carlson, a far-right commentator in his own right, once said of her, 'I've obviously been lied to a lot by campaign operatives, but the striking thing about the way she lied was she knew I knew she was lying, and she did it anyway. There is no word in English that captures that. It almost crosses over from bravado into mental illness.' Carlson calls it mental illness, I call it eminently qualified to be Bush's press secretary."

9. Karen's not got quite the right temperament
As little as I thought of Ari and Scott, they both had an uncanny quality not to personalize the adversarial nature of the daily press gaggles. I don't think Karen could face someone who was implying with tone or body language that she was lying through her teeth; she'd have to respond to that.

Both Ari and Scott could take that kind of challenge and just blithely go on talking, hitting all the talking points and avoiding any substantive answer at all for minutes on end. Karen would almost certainly go velociraptor on a reporter who intimated that she was dissembling or fudging the question.

10. It's all she can do to keep the drag routine straight...
think about how much work it would be for here to tap dance around the daily lies and obfuscations, all the time trying to keep up the facade of a woman. I wonder about the "women" in the buxh administration. They are some Hard looking broads... Kindasleeza rice looks a "hot mess" and Karen has that, er, um, androgynous look. Has anyone ever seen evidence that she actually has children and/or a family? Frankly, I've always thought that all these women are Manly looking, while the "men" in the cabinet have a slightly, doughy, pasty "soft" look.

16. Matalin would be great because at some point, she would
have a meltdown on the podium. She seems unstable. I would love to peek into her medicine cabinet.

21. How about J.C. Watts or Susan Morinority (sp)? She's a big
talker/spinner and would probably like to go to Washington to join her husband who recently got an important job in the WH.
