The Rove move is PURE, UTTER, UNVARNISHED spin
They're spinning the Rove 'change in portfolio' is a big deal. Dopes anyone think for one moment that his office will move? That his influence will change? That he will have any less power?

This is surely a case of lipstick on a pig.

The teevee cluckers are already right on script: "Could this be a slap-down of Rove?" asked the heavily scripted and lightweight-brained Randy Meyers of Nora O'Donnell.

The spin is for the benefit of the RW, really. 'See, we're doin' shit'.

1. Agree; when he took over that position, nothing changed.
Nothing will change now, unless Fitz gets involved. One can hope!

3. Yeah ......
.... as if, before this change, he hadn't planned on being involved.

His only portfolio - ever - has been to carry the mantle of Lee Atwater.

He'll be up to his usual dirty tricks... I expect we'll be seeing an increase in stories about Dem candidates' gay lovers, out-of-wedlock tri-racial children, and godless heathen druid worship...

9. Proud to be the first Rec...."lipstick on a pig"...you're too kind!
He's being moved because he's too noisy, didn't you hear that. Has his woofer and tweeter up all the way, all the time...that hip hop is driving the "big guy" nuts. Actually, that's no drive, it's a short put.

This is the pre Fitzgerald smack down; it's preemptive politics, it's power play lite.

They should have just fired the guy. These DC people never learn.

17. Pre-emptive politics
I'm dreaming of the day when Dems start using pre-emptive strategies instead of reactionary ones...

16. No, he's going to work on the 2006 election
He's already been to Ohio a few times, and has said he's targeting the senate race here.

He isn't supposed to be working on these races from the WH, so the change is strictly cosmetic.
