The road to hell is paved with good intentions
Edited on Thu Mar-30-06 01:16 PM by IsItJustMe
I believe that some of my favorite Senators motives on this immigration bill leading to legalization, for the most part, are honest. For me, there are no completely altruistic reasons.

I don’t believe, like the repukes do, that the Dems are in this for the votes. The chimp got a huge boost in the last election by Latino voters. Many Latinos’ are quite conservative, Catholic and bottom line who honestly knows.

But the end result of this will be the same as pouring gasoline on a fire. In my view, this will increase illegal immigration to this country by an order of magnitude. It will decimate our social programs (which are already busting at the seems). It will drive down wages from their already dismal level (real wages in this country has not risen in the last 10 years). It will cause health costs to skyrocket further than what has already happened. This is simply a no win situation. It’s not good for the illegal immigrants and it’s not good for the American Citizens.

Now I have heard many of people say, how can poor people vote for the Repukes, Aren't they cutting their own throats. In the interest of keeping it real and honest, take a good look in the mirror, and ask yourself, how can we be for a policy that will put serious hurt on the citizens of this country that can least afford it.

This is from my heart. I have no ulterior motives here whatsoever. I am speaking truth, as I know it. Help me out hear and tell me where my logic or thoughts are wrong? I am a big boy.

1. Not to mention ensuring an endless supply of fearful
workers that can easily be exploited by brush's base, the haves and have mores. By giving the current group of 11 to 20 million illegals a chance to buy amnesty, the Dems have inadvertently guaranteed that more illegals will follow in larger numbers. The ever increasing population of unskilled cheap labor will ensure lower wages and increased taxes. Just wait until this economy takes a nose dive. The middle class will be hard pressed to stay out of poverty while funding social programs for illegals and welfare for corporations.

2. Cheap labor conservatives who want a free ride on the backs
of exploited workers are the problem.

Attack the real enemy and the immigration question will become very unimportant very quickly.

End the exploitation and you'll dry up the market for exploitable workers.
