Bush meltdown, live TV, NOW: "My Dad FOUGHT the Japanese!"
He's yelling, saying that the 'murcan people don;t need a president who chases polls and focus groups, that in thirty years he'll be thanked, that he's doing what he believes, and it's amazing that he sits down at a table with Koizumi and negotiates when his dad fought the Japanese.

This man is clearly off his meds.

15. Too much going on to get it all down...
...but he's shot out of a cannon this morning. Seriously. Either the polls have REALLY gotten to him or he's high or both.

Maybe he's tired of having to "justify" his actions. He was yelling...REALLY yelling...about how we have to understand that he makes his decisions on what he BELIEVES in his SOUL, and that while we may not AGREE with his decisions, at least we know why he's MAKING them.

Something to that effect.

A transcript of this one will be worthless, because you MUST SEE THE VIDEO CLIP.

Keep an eye on Canofun and Crooks & Liars.

128. in 30 years we can thank him for the total implosion of the RNC
and the restoration of a vibrant new democracy in America when the liberals, true conservatives and middle America - all realizing what they were SO CLOSE TO LOSING, came together to throw out the career politicians and start anew with citizen politicians. Once again the rule of diplomacy and compromise became valued in public discourse. For this we will thank GWB in 30 years - perhaps we will even ask the Hague tribunals if it would be time to let him out of prison - in 30 years.

One can dream.

One can dream, and in the seeds of the dream come courage to act for the future.

Peace.

I've been going in and out of the room where the TV is...sorry...
...I haven't watched the whole thing. I just walked in the room a minute ago and heard him yelling and stood there transfixed...he's also slurring his words a bit. You can understand what he's saying, but it's the kind of slurring that happens when someone is really, really, really pissed off and is trying to conceal it.

I'll keep an eye on DU for the vidclips...and will post them when available, unless someone else posts them first.

It really seems like a mental derangement or a mental illness.

He's running this conference at "Freedom House" like a frat house debate. My God, how far we have fallen with this poorly aptituded person at the helm.

People laugh at him.

"I don't want to ruin (my) image," he says.

And what gets lost is that, in 30 years time, with exposure to the mainstream global media, much of Iraq would modernize and join the rest of the world of it's own accord, the same way the former Soviet Union did, the same way we see happening in China today. The Republicans are always looking to turn their leaders into gods, and will do everything they can to avoid any facts which prove otherwise.

in a straight jacket.

Before 2000, I just could not believe that they were running a nut case like Bush and that so many people would vote for him. They even said he didn't need to know much because he would have very competent advisers. That made me feel really insecure that we were willing to have someone as president that we knew wasn't qualified. Now what happens as those advisers jump ship? He will really have to stand there in his emperor's new clothes.

I think Bob Dylan wrote, "even the pope must sometime stand naked."

66. 25th Amendment, Section 4. probably isn't going to happen today
but it sure would be nice.

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Then we could work on impeaching Cheney (unless Fitz indicts him first!)

By the way, the OSS used subs to ferry operatives and supplies throughout the Pacific...which explains the real reason why that sub was in the film.

Now, like the fucked up little child he never stopped being, he stomps his little foot crying, "Not fair! Not fair!". He's going to take the fall for all of the stupid shit the big kids talked him into and he doesn't like it. He pouts, stays on the chip and wishes he could down a fifth of anything. 139. Junior's dad, Poppy Bush, was in the Navy in the Pacific during WWII....
...and allegedly fought the Japanese as a fighter pilot. IMHO, I believe Poppy was a member of the OSS, one of the forerunners of the CIA. The OSS was very active in the Pacific Theater.

Junior's grandpa, Prescott Bush, was a director with the Union Bank that made loans to Nazi Germany from 1934-1942 until they were shut down. The president of the Union Bank was Herbert Walker, Prescott's father-in-law.

Prescott was in the intelligence branch of the U. S. Army between WWI and WWII...which also lends credence to the idea that his son Poppy was in the OSS. Poppy was a Yalie, a member of the Naval ROTC, a member of a secret society, and a member of the Yale baseball team. Yale was a prime target for recruiting intelligence operatives. Just ask Bob Woodward.

135. Nothing on the left-wing blogs, either...
Not a mention of this on Atrios, DailyKos, MyDD, or TalkingPointsMemo.

Sadly, I fear the idea that this would have some traction was pretty much wishful thinking on the part of DUers. :-( Or, maybe, by now everyone expects Bush to be irrational, so it's not worth writing about.

Who the hell might that be? Haven't had one of those since before Gallup started their gig over 70 years ago. If * thinks anyone believes his sorry ass when he claims not to pay attention to polls, I've got some WMD parked in a Baghdad warehouse I'll sell you.

He doesn't go around kissing the asses of reporters like he's been doing the last 10 days, when his poll numbers are up. Gimme a break.

caught bankrolling the Nazi fighting machine while we were at war with the Nazis....while MY Dad was fighting the Nazis. Course Dubya's been bankrolling the terrorists for years so I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It's just bidness in the Bush Crime Family.

150. Folks, there must be something going on
in the White House. Check out Rumsfailed recently. The old man is acting like he's going to lose it, right on TV. He is clearly going through some kind of meltdown.

Cheney's gone underground. Card is out. Rove is probably completely distracted by Fitzgerald. I've been reading that the White House aides are completely exhausted.

We are seeing an administration coming apart. They must have heard something, some devastating news that they can't cope with. It's probably only a matter of time before it becomes public. (what could it be?)

Edited on Thu Mar-30-06 01:45 AM by Nothing Without Hope
even the tame press to cover up for him, the GOP cabal will find him more useful as a martyr and have him "assassinated," blaming the deed, of course, on whatever country they want to invade the most - Iran? Then Bush would get his wish to be a big hero - posthumously. Seriously, these people play for keeps and I can't see them taking any chances that this deteriorating idiot is going to harm their plans. He'd be very useful as a heroic martyr to "terrorists," and the GOP ratings - and the US public fear factor - would go right up on cue. Maybe right before the elections.

153. I asked yesterday....
....if Bush had realized yet that he was ultimately expendable in the eyes of the cabal. He did what they picked him for. Now he's a drag on their plans. Has he read enough history to understand the possibilities they have planned?

is taken care of by other people and absolutely nothing is his fault. Besides, he's a Bush Prince, so I'm betting he feels perfectly safe. He probably actually thinks he's the leader! THey know how to play that fool, and it can't be that hard to figure out how to do it. He's eager to be deceived by his preferred lies.

No, I don't think he realizes the danger he is in or that he is actually expendable to the monsters he thinks he controls. I swear, every time I hear that he's visiting a country with a prominently publicized "terrorist" element on hand, I get very, very nervous wondering if this time the cabal will trigger that plan. Surely they've got it ready - Plan "Dump the A**hole and Blame It on Terraists From the Country We Want To Invade Next."

158. as Mastercard says....
An expendable Bush -- priceless (in the opportunities it would provide for the cabal -- it would save the GOP, make a rationale for military action somewhere, and set in motion many different dynamics that would work against the interests of the people).

You'll be remembered in 30 years, alright.

I can just see the satellite TV line up now - sharks, Nazis and the Bush Crime Family.

Hopefully the events of the late 20th/early 21st century will act as a grave warning to future generations. And the footage of the idiot's press conferences will speak for themselves. "Was that the best they could elect? WTF were they thinking about?"

with a fellow DU friend. I think that part of the problem is that he's surrounded by sycophants and manipulators who refuse to tell him the truth or don't want him to see it. He's in for a very rude awakening, if he ever emerges from his altered state of reality.

161. He can't possibly compare the two
For one thing--Japan DID attack us. Iraq DIDN'T. Japan had every intention of taking over whatever they could. Iraq didn't. We nuked the hell out of Japan rather than invade it. It would have probably been a much different story then.

It was a totally different war in a different time. Bush will continue to be hated and defied by the middle east because of this invasion. There is NO comparison. He's delusional:eyes:

163. We'll thank him in 30 years, uh, right.
That's what Hitler said before he shot himself in the head, that we'll all thank him for getting rid of the damn Jews. /godwin

If we have anything to thank these people for, it's an example of what we most definitely DO NOT WANT in the future. No one in Germany will forget about Hitler for hundreds of years, and it will be quite some time before we forget about Bush 43.

Then again, there was this sweaty character with the five-o-clock shadow named Nixon...
