Dear xxx,

With the crucial March 31 deadline fast approaching and public outrage about Bush's failed leadership and the Republican mess in Washington growing, you have three critical opportunities right now to elect new Democratic Senators and change the balance of power in the U.S. Senate.

Harold Ford, Sherrod Brown, and Amy Klobuchar are running strong campaigns for change across America. They represent the future of this country and the future of the U.S. Senate. But if we are to achieve our goal of a Democratic-controlled Senate in 2006, we must act today to build on the momentum that our candidates have worked so hard to earn in Tennessee, Minnesota, and Ohio.

If you have been looking for an opportunity to send a strong message to Bush, Frist, and the Republican gang controlling Washington that you are tired of business as usual, it's time for a dramatic show of strength for Harold Ford, Amy Klobuchar, and Sherrod Brown.

Act before the March 31 deadline.

There is no better way to change the course in the US Senate than by replacing failed Republican Majority Leader Bill Frist with a strong Democratic voice for change. Harold Ford Jr., running for the Senate in Tennessee, has never been afraid to take tough stands and hold our leaders accountable for policies failing the American people. He represents a new generation of leadership dedicated to breaking the stranglehold of Middle East oil, making health care more affordable, and building genuine national security at home and in the world. I can tell you this: the Senate urgently needs his voice, his vision and his vote. By acting before the midnight Friday deadline, you can make it happen.

In Ohio, Sherrod Brown is running a strong campaign against Senator Mike DeWine, who has spent his time in the Senate serving as a rubber stamp for Bush's failed policies and refusing to stand up to the culture of corruption. American families can't afford 6 more years of a Senator who supports privatizing Medicare and Social Security. Sherrod Brown will fight for health care and stand up to protect our seniors, and our children; as a Congressman, he was the chief Democratic sponsor of the bipartisan Children's Health Act of 2000, which expanded research on autism, birth defects, and other child-related diseases. A respected voice in Congress on U.S. trade policy, Sherrod led the bipartisan opposition to last summer's flawed Central American Free Trade Agreement.

In Minnesota, Amy Klobuchar is doing a terrific job frustrating Karl Rove's efforts to turn Minnesota red. Bush, Frist, and a whole parade of GOP leaders have been to the state trying to save Amy's Republican opponent who is another Bush rubber stamp, voting with the president 97% of the time. As Hennepin County prosecutor, Amy has been a strong advocate for women, doubling the number of domestic abuse cases prosecuted in the County. I need Amy with me in the Senate to fight for health care reform, energy independence, tax fairness and economic and international security.

All three of these Senate candidates are running great campaigns, making Rove and the Republicans very nervous, but they need us to help them press forward to victory.

Act before the March 31 deadline.

All three of these Senate races are so crucial that we're devoting this week to alerting our grassroots supporters around the country to their importance. And we're urging people to weigh in right now - before Friday's midnight deadline - when your support can add visible momentum to these hard-charging candidates.

Harold Ford, Amy Klobuchar, and Sherrod Brown urgently need and deserve your support before the Friday midnight deadline that is fast approaching. If we can elect all three of them, we'll be halfway toward our goal of taking back the Senate in 2006.

Act before the March 31 deadline.

I know you'll do everything you can to help these three strong candidates. Thanks so much for all you do.

Sincerely,

John Kerry
