C&L Vid Clip: David Gregory & Laura Ingraham Dust-Up

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/03/21.html#a7608

Laura Ingraham and David Gregory got into a little shouting match over where the TODAY show should broadcast from. Ingraham plays the typical Blame the Media game."

Video-WMP

Video-QT (David Edwards)

David: I get the anti-network point...

Carville: It's all the fault of NBC...

Linda: James, that's a little trick...

Gregory asked what should be done now if Carville were advising Bush about Iraq. Josh Marshall has a post up about Ronald Reagan and George Bush which says it all:

Reagan had the ability, simply, to change his mind. You might say it's the ability to allow the facts to overcome your mind or as our secular saint, President Lincoln, put it, far more eloquently, the ability to 'disenthrall ourselves.'

And that is an ability the current occupant of the White House entirely lacks -- a fact which is on display now as he again crosses the country arguing that black is white and up is down.

President Bush represents something different from the normal sloshing back and forth between liberalism and conservatism. He's a radical. He's set on a destructive course, laced with corruption and fed by extremism. And he mistakenly believes that stubbornness and ignorance constitute a virtue he calls 'leadership'.

2. Was she the one who said that journalists in Iraq weren't
doing their jobs, and were just standing on balconies. The NBC correspondent from Iraq
more or less said: how dare you, 70 journalists have been killed in Iraq, 40 have been
kidnapped, 3 are kidnapped and still being held. She sitting in a cushy office in
Bush bubbleland, accusing him and other journalists in Iraq not going out and investigating
to report the good news in Iraq. Tonight on Jim Lehrer, I heard that the New Iraqi army that has been formed by the US Amry has divisions by Sects, like one division of Kurds, the
next one Shias, so it's just the Kurdish and Shia militias with better uniforms and guns.
So they are going to continue to wage bitter secterian battles. The expert interviewed
said that if Bush continues with this strategy; it will be the same in the long run
as pulling out now.

3. She wants the Today Show in Iraq. Where's FoX and Friends?
I love how she went on FAUX to blast the Today Show for not doing their show from Iraq. Hello? I don't see the FAUX cheerleading crew setting up on the streets of downtown Baghdad.

and she's been crowing about it on her radio show nonstop since she got back, and bashing people over the head with it. Callers, guests, friends, enemies, it doesn't matter, she shrieks, "I was there! I was there!"
