He knows people hate him...
... and he is scared to death of the common people. (That's us, folks.)

Who were those guys?

Agents posed as journalists before visit

By KAREN NELSONkarennelson2@aol.com

There was a whirlwind of activity in the days prior to President Bush's arrival at a home on the beach in Gautier last week, with government officials and Secret Service scouting a location and checking the neighborhood where Bush would stop. The reason for all the fuss was kept a secret even from the family that received Bush. They didn't know it was prelude to a presidential visit until the day Bush arrived.

But one part of the preparation for the President's arrival involved two government agents posing as journalists. Recounting the pre-visit days for WLOX and the Sun Herald, Jerry Akins, who received Bush, mentioned that on the Friday before Bush arrived, two men approached him identifying themselves as members of the media.

He said the men told him they were with Fox News out of Houston, Texas, and were on a "scouting mission" for a story on new construction. They took pictures inside Akins' house, which is under construction and looked up and down the road in the neighborhood. Akins said he didn't think anything more about them partly because visits from strangers increased exponentially as government agents and Secret Service arrived that Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday before the March 8 visit.

But after the president left Akins' home, the two men again approached Akins and let him know they were not media after all, but were with the governmental entourage.

I know Clinton had security. But remember all the footage which was shown a thousand times a day--the footage of Clinton on the rope line, the ones where Monica came up to him? Funny how Clinton could be so close to those crowds of "common people"--yet Junior has to go to extreme lengths to pre-check every place he goes, and Junior and Cheney have to sneak in and out of their public appearances.

they went thru every downtown with a fine tooth comb..but they didn`t hide who they were. we should expect our ss to do everything possible to protect the president and there is no reason to lie about who they are.

3. and he hates us right back!
Those on the right often comment on the 'hate' that the left
has for 'everything Bush'. And, they have a point to an extent.

We ARE angry at the degradation of our nation and national values.

But, I also think we viscerally respond to Bush's hate and contempt for
America.

I saw a great video. It was a documentary made by the daughter of a
famous journalist (can't recall the names right now) of Bush on the
campaign trail in 2000.

He tried to be 'friendly' a couple of times...but more often his
conduct was arrogant, hateful, cynical ... as exemplified when an
open mike caught him whispering. "that's that asshole from the NY times"

He knows we DO hate him...for hating us.

7. I do think he is arrogant. Another example is the story of his meeting
with the mother of a young soldier who'd recently been killed in the fraudulent Iraq war. (Apparently when your kid gets killed, you get to meet with the president, as a sort of consolation prize.)

She became tearful--surely a natural reaction. Now, when someone dies, it is customary to say kind, wistful things about the person... she said something very predictable. She said, "I wish you could have met my son, Mr. President. He was a wonderful person, and he would have had a wonderful life."

Bush was reported to have replied, "How do you know he would have had a wonderful life?"

That was reported, IIRC, in Stars and Stripes.

If I had been that woman, I'd be in jail right now--probably for life--because I'd have had an uncontrollable urge to lunge at the man and rip his eyes from their sockets.

6. Bush, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity...
they all need excessive security because they're so detached from the normal folks.
