List of Cowering Democrats their phone #s and ones who Censured Clinton
Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 03:21 PM by Pryderi
Call your Senators at 202-224-3121 or toll-free at 888-355-3588 or 888-818-6641 or directly at the # below and deliver a simple message:
"I urge you to support Senator Feingold's bill to censure George Bush."
And for Democratic Senators, add this:
"And stop cowering in fear of Republican thugs!"

This is not a one-day issue. We're going to keep after all 100 Senators until they censure Bush - and ultimately impeach him. Let us know the answers you get when you call by posting below, and we will update our tally below.

1. May I add something?
Include that this "backfire" notion is pure BS!!!!!! I keep hearing that when the Repubs did this to Clinton...it backfired! How so? They CONTROL everything! The Presidency, The House, The Senate, SCOTUS...

Peace.

2. Not only that, but more Americans suppor Censure than oppose it.
46 percent of Americans (48 percent of voters) support Sen. Russ Feingold’s censure resolution, while 44 percent (43 percent of voters) oppose the idea, according to an American Research Group poll.

3. Kerry and Menendez support it - BTW, do you UNDERSTAND Feingold already
Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 03:30 PM by blm
got it moved into committee where he WANTS it debated? It's the GOP who are trying to demand quick answers.

Feingold WANTS it in committee and debated to get more attention on the ISSUE of censure and NSA spying, yet it seems many here prefer the rush it through tactic of the GOP.

Listen to Feingold's interview on the Ed Schultz show from Tuesday. He's pleased with the movement of the issue into committee and wants the debate now IN COMMITTEE, not a rushed vote.

5. Hey you're no fun.
Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 03:42 PM by MH1
We want to bash Democrats here.

:sarcasm:

(Oh and let's not talk about Clinton censure being in lieu of impeachment...which a certain Senator whose name begins with 'F' voted for the impeachment trial to proceed...or a certain Judiciary Committee member "cowering" on Roberts and Alito...if we MUST use that word.)

4. Dems or Green Party
I emailed Senator Reid and expressed my support on Feingold's decision to censure King George. My email went like this;

Senator Reid,

I am writing to ask whether or not you will be supporting Sen. Feingold's movement to censure the President for his illegal wiretapping. The Republicans threatened censure and attempted to impeach a President, who although immoral, did not attempt to take away out Basic freedoms. I am a lifelong democrat who has always voted for you. Failure of our party to act on this issue and it's continuing to allow the President to bully the American people, may cause me to start voting Green as a protest against out parties unwillingness to do the right thing.

Thanks,
Heidi Allen

6. Do you not KNOW that the censure of Clinton was INSTEAD OF IMPEACHMENT ?
Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 03:48 PM by blm
A No vote on censure of Clinton was FOR IMPEACHMENT PROCESS TO PROCEED.

I can't believe anyone is dumb enough to have preferred impeachment of Clinton over a censure meant to stop impeachment process. Clinton, himself, wanted censure instead of impeachment.

The traitors to the law were the ones who voted AGAINST censure of Clinton and wanted impeachment process to proceed.

Surely we don't need to call in Sherlock Holmes to explain this fact - it's not exactly a difficult mystery.

17. Right. Some here may recall that the name of moveon.org
comes from the phrase "Censure and move on." In other words, censure but don't impeach.

13. Because the premise is a lie.
they are not all against censure - Feingold has censure in committee where he wanted it to continue debate. It's the GOps who wanted to rush a vote through. Kneejerk Dems who don't realize this are calling and demanding a vote now for censure, when Feingold wants it in committee to further the debate of the ISSUE.

Plus, it's wellknown that censuring Clinton was to STOP IMPEACHMENT. If you voted gainst censure of Clinton it meant you WANTED impeachment to continue.

18. Feinstein's waiting for constituent feedback?
Does that mean she plans to actually listen to it when she gets it? I just might call her office and give some staffer an earful...miracles have been known to happen!
