Democratic Senators need to close ranks and back Feingold, Doesn't matter
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 06:45 PM by Pryderi
if Feingold "broke ranks" or "got out in front". If they don't present a united front, they'll look weak. As Clinton said it's better to be "Strong and Wrong".

We're right in this case and dems should let Frist call a vote and throw it back in their face as Republican aiding and abetting.

2. Yes, however . . .
Please say "Democratic senators." "Democrat senators" and "the Democrat Party" are straight out of Newt Gingrich's language playbook. Apparently, they choke on using "Democratic" to describe our side. Even GW CandyAss does this. It's ungrammatical, petty, and childish (on their part). You may not be aware that it is a conscious choice among Republicans, so I'm asking you to please say "Democratic" when you need an adjective.

5. Pryderi, I hope you don't think I'm annoyed.
I just like to point this out, because Republicans are more than willing to stoop to this kind of crap. I don't think you're doing the same.

I agree with everything else in your post.

15. Nixon
I remember him saying it as far back as 1968.

For all I know he said it in the 1950s.

It was a Nixonism, not part of the general Republican thing.

17. I remember Nixon, but not this, so I'll check it out.
I do know that there is a "general Republican thing" of using "Democrat" when "Democratic" should be used, and that George W. Flake is one of the many who uses it.

8. Agreed! You either think the President is above the law or you don't.
Risk averse Democrats, now is the time to stand up for the rule of law. Support Feingold now!

11. Yes, with every Dem voting for censure. Let R's justify a NO vote
to the American people.

16. I believe it is every Tuesday for
2 hours each party meets in their respective areas and discuss whatever. Today, the Senators should have discussed the censure issue and afterwards came out onto the steps of the Congress and INVITED ALL THE mediawhores and then told the nation exactly why they are supporting the Feingold censure. If you recall the Pat Roberts committee voted down an investigation into this matter, and this would of been part of the talking points. This isue was "dead solid perfect" for the Dems to "stand tall" as ONE, and even though it would be defeated by the repugs, at least the Dems would of had the chance to talk to the nation about WHY they were voting for CENSURE...
