8. Agreed. Way off!
Kennedy is a slime-ball running on Bush's coat tails. As Bush sinks, so does Kennedy. Further, Klobuchar has not "effectively eliminated her competition" for the DFL nomination. The Beltway Dems tried to knock out Ford Bell (the progressive Dem), but that just backfired. Bell is very much in the race. He states his positions and they reflect issues important to Minnesotans.

Key Race: Minnesota Senate (Open)

By Chris Cillizza
washingtonpost.com Staff Writer
February 6, 2006

Minnesota is by far Republicans' best pick-up opportunity at the moment, but even this seat is no slam-dunk for the party. Hennepin County Attorney Amy Klobuchar has effectively eliminated her competition for the Democratic nomination. Rep. Mark Kennedy has long had the Republican field to himself. Both campaigns are raising millions of dollars, but this race doesn't seem likely to engage in any meaningful way until late summer or Labor Day. It's hard to see how a Republican House member beats a well-known Democrat in a blue state in the current political climate, but Kennedy deserves kudos for the solid campaign he has run to date.

5. I see it as becoming 51 - 49 in our favor in the Senate
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 12:45 PM by mvd
Counting Jeffords, who caucuses with us. I'm predicting one upset win for us in Virginia. It could be 50 - 50, depending on if Harris gets out of the race in Florida.
