Learned something new-- history says Gore would win in 08 :)
Edited on Mon Mar-13-06 12:25 PM by wakeme2008
From Raw story http://rawstory.com/news/2006/Clinton_adviser_Look_out_here_comes_0313.html

History indicates that candidates who won the popular vote but lost in the Electoral College have all come back to win revenge in subsequent elections. Andrew Jackson, cheated in 1824, won in 1828. Grover Cleveland, cheated in 1888, triumphed in 1892. Samuel Tilden, who won the popular vote in 1876, never ran again, but he dealt away the White House in a deal for the withdrawal for federal troops from the South, allowing the Ku Klux Klan to take over. (By the way, for a great history of how this era kindled the racism we have lived with since, read Eric Foner's new book, "Forever Free.")

7. He'd have to dump more than Joe
he'd have to dump all those DLC "handlers" that have poisoned candidates in the last two elections. Those people are corporate lobbyists who turn into campaign managers every four years. Through them, the DLC controls the campaign message and that insures no candidate will be able to do anything that isn't on their website. That in turn insures that the party's working class base, denied of any hope for a better future, will stay home on election day, and that insures another GOP election theft.

If he runs again, let's hope he's strong enough to send those "handlers" packing when they turn up. If he's not, there is no point to his effort on the campaign trail.

And don't say you haven't noticed a difference between the wimp in 2000 and the forceful speaker since.

3. Too bad he ain't running...
He has made it abundantly clear he does not wish to run.

These threads have been around since the "loss" in 2000. And they keep getting people's hopes up.

Gore has lost interest, for whatever reason, in the presidency. We need to look elsewhere.

5. I think there is too much of the "boy scout" in Al Gore to resist
a genuine draft movement. If it comes to that, he will come to the aid of his country, despite whatever reservations he may have.

9. While that has been true in the past
Gore is now coming out more and more against Bush and doing more public speaking....

Will he change his mind... IMHO it is 50/50 at this point.
