2. OK. Who's Ciro? Is he the Rodriquez.

I'm a bit confused by three candidates, and four names.

3. Ciro Rodriguez being supported by DFA, Kos, etc.
Against Henry Cuellar who sat with the GOP side during the SOTU. He is the one who had his face squeezed by Bush.

5. He is also supporter by Kerry and lots of H of R people.
He had a list of these people who endorsed him, Kerry's PAC also gave him money.

13. I thought it significant that many H of R people
were endorsing a peer's rival in the primary - it's pretty unusual and Kerry was (at least at one time the only Senator). I was just adding relevant info - I have no way of knowing what you know.

6. What's this about problems with touchscreen machines?
This is going bad. We are going to need Morales to take away a lot of votes from Cuellar in Webb County. Of course, Webb County, Cuellar's stronghold, still hasn't reported yet due to problems with touchscreen machines, or something. I'm really starting to get pissed off about that.

16. The Webb County machines are brand new.
They've been having trouble with the things ever since they came in, in January. They had problems last week, during early voting. Fortunately, Webb is one of the few places with machines where a voter still has the option of a paper ballot. Results from two types of ballots may account for some of the delay.

What's the point of voting when the outcome is already pre-programmed?

20. Dallas Morning News|Cuellar leads Rodriguez in congressional grudge match
03/08/2006

By T.A. BADGER / Associated Press

With thousands of votes yet to be counted in his home county, U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar held a small lead over former congressman Ciro Rodriguez early Wednesday in the Democratic primary in House District 28.

If early-voting results in Webb County are any guide, Cuellar will capture the vast majority of those outstanding ballots and avoid an April runoff election.

With 99 percent of the precincts reporting, Cuellar had 53 percent of the ballots tallied. Rodriguez, who narrowly lost to Cuellar in the 2004 primary in the South Texas district, had 41 percent. Victor Morales had 2,534 votes, or 6 percent.

Cuellar, a Laredoan who had trailed most of Tuesday night, took the lead when the early voting results in Webb County were tabulated. He won about 87 percent of those 9,388 votes.

The tabulation of Webb's early votes was delayed several hours because of software problems with the vote-counting machines, according to the Texas Secretary of State's office.
