MOST ADVANCED LOCKHEED MARTIN F-16 FIGHTERS FEATURED AT DUBAI AIR SHOW
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates and FORT WORTH, Texas (Nov. 22, 2005)

Lockheed Martin is featuring the most advanced F-16 fighters this week at the Dubai International Air Show – the Block 60 F-16 E/F and the Block 50/52 F-16 C/D.

The new Block 60 aircraft made its aerial debut at the show on Monday November 21 – in the home country of the first and only nation flying this aircraft today. Troy Pennington, Lockheed Martin test pilot, is flying the aircraft in the demonstrations this week.

“The Block 60 is a great plane to fly and is an outstanding addition to our air force,” said Brigadier General Ali Khadem Salem Al Mansoori, -UAE- Assistant Air Force commander for air defense during the F-16 briefing today.

yes, the US is the world's largest arms merchant, this is not new news.

7. The F-16 is obsolete

and we're currently building its replacement, the F-35.

Sure, we sell them to other countries -- the UAE included.

My "link" is sitting in the living room watching TV; he's an electronic warfare engineer for the US Air Force and my husband as well. He's assured me this is no big deal.

4. We do sell our military planes to foreign countries, but they are

NOT equipped with the same high tech stuff that we use on ours. My son is a Site commander for the Navy, so I don't have any links or anything, but I've talked to him about this same thing in the past. I'm not saying I agree that we should sell these planes, but if those countries are going to buy military planes from someone, I'd rather see Lockheed get the business.

6. why are we selling modern F-16's to the UAE?

The UAE is a front for AL Queda. And Block 50 to 60 is pretty darn modern, there, good buddy. Is Russia selling modern fighters, like the mach 3 MIG 25 foxbat? Or the dogfighter MIG 29? Or the SU 27? France and the UK are the only other countries producing a somewhat modern jet fighter-- neither country produces an air superiority jet. SO why sell modern equipment to these countries?

The real question is who, in theater, has a modern air Force?

Let me go further-- UAE & Saudi Arabia are both run by Sunnis.
