Dean broke? No. Try Kerry.
After I took a look at Deans FEC statement, he left about 9 million in the black, but when I see kerry's money, he was in NEGATIVE two million and had to float another 2.9 million to keep his campaign alive. He also had to raise 2m to pay back that loan, leaving him with under 300k to spend for the rest of the primaries. Dean has enough to battle all the way, even down to 2 to 3 million, he has raised close to 2.5 million in two weeks since Iowa.

1. yes, but I'd also like to point out in fairness, that since the IA and NH
wins, Kerry's also been getting donations.

2. yes but
What Dean needs isn't money. Its confidence in the American people that he can beat Bush.

10. Dean said he would breakup the mass media congomarates - thus the media
turning against him with a vengance.

23. The media was also deathly afraid of Communist Al Gore
That's why they attacked him!

Face it, the media attacked Dean because he was the richest and the front runner. He embodies no particularly fearful antithesis to the corporate media.

27. Absolutely Correct
The Dean campaign has done a lousy job managing the media.

14. who ran the best ads?
The designers and creators of the ads should get some credit. While you do need something to start with - people who create better ads, presumably charge more, etc. etc.

More money, better ads, more likely to win.

15. I'm confused
Dean had more money so he should have had better ads, but he didn't. Kerry did.

7. When Kerry's mask finally fall off....
The American people will see the real Kerry, without botox and all and they won't like what they'll see: just another demagogue offering everything he can and speaking with both sides of his mouth. His actions (or lack thereof) in the past 5 years as an ineffective, business as usual, special interest darling will betray him. I bet he's got more skeleton and skulls in the closet than anyone else and the GOP will make sure this comes out if he is nominated.

A man who mortgages his house to prop his sinking campaign is not a good, responsible leader. I doubt he'll be able to raise much from ordinary people, he'll have to rely on his "connections" in order to stay afloat and along the way he'll have to make secret pacts with those special interests--I don't believe those obscure deals have gotten nothing to do with his stands on the issues and the legislation he has introduced. I am sure that sooner or later the mask will come off and the real Kerry will be there for all to see.

13. Better to mortgage a house and finance a campaign than to

allow a campaign to run out of money and ask your staff to work without pay so you don't have to go into debt!!!

That's the real Howard Dean, a guy who'll finance his campaign on the backs of working people, after criticizing an opponent who very sensibly borrowed against a house.

A "great manager" who obviously wasn't watching the books at all. So much for his credibility in economic matters.

9. Excuse me, but I think when you examine Kerry's credentials in
the Senate, you will admire what you see. I have not chosen a candidate; however, unsubstantiated claims against any future candidate who will oppose Bush is unfair and is playing into the hands of ENEMY # 1.

January was an expensive month for everybody. Kerry may even be in worse situation than before. But hey, so what if he's close to being broke, the media told me he was most the electable. And who am I to question them?

use in New Hampshire. This from an impeccable source.

With all the advertising in 7 states, where did all the money some from to fund this??? Not only from web contributors....
