A morning brain tease..Who said this?
"I am not a politician. I am an ordinary citizen with a deep seated belief with much of what troubles us has been brought about by politicians; it's high time that more ordinary citizens brought the fresh air of common sense thinking to bear on these problems. We have had enough of the wheeling and dealing and enough of the schemers and their shcemes."

3. Ronald Reagan running for Governor
In a speech at USC April 19, 1966. Certainly applicable today esp, in light of the dealing going on to pass the Patriot Act "Sometimes cosmetics will make a beauty out of a beast and provide enough cover for senators to change their vote." Arlen Spector
And now instead of investing the illegal spying, the House is looking to change the law so it's now legal. Good Grief!

7. I didn't recognise the quote, but my first thought was Reagan.
I recognised the attitude. And the fallacy behind it -- IF YOU DO POLITICS, YOU ARE A POLITICIAN!!!!

And his administration, 20 years later, wound up being the most corrupt in US history - to date. What was it? 138 felony convictions out of the Reagan administration?
