He would use this shooting incident as an excuse to fire Cheney. With the latest revelations about classified leaks to the press by Scooter, firing Cheney would say to the public, OK I am cleaning up this mess, and after a while the press would return to covering missing white girls.
Fortunately, for us the guy has shit for brains and he won't do it. You would think a smart guy like Rove would figure the same thing, time to flush dick down the poop chute.

1. I don't think he CAN fire Cheney...
the best he could do is ask him to step down, which is about as likely as Cheney flashing a sincere smile.
