WASHINGTON

The White House took heavy flak yesterday for waiting a vewwy, vewwy long time before revealing that wascally Vice President Dick Cheney had shot a fellow hunter.

3. I had to take a second look at that photo...
...because at first glance I thought "Jeff Gannon! Is that YOU?"

4. I think it's a taunt aimed at Cheney.

That guy looked like Gannon for a second.

is a hoot too.

May God/Dess/etc help me after reading the 1st "hook" paragraph I couldn't resist signing up to read the whole thing since it was free. Of course I used a throw away email just in case... I wasn't cy-born yesterday. ;)

<snip>
Victim Harry Whittington, 78, was reported recovering quickly from the "Elmer Fudd-type accident," in which he took more than 10 shotgun pellets to the check, neck and face when Cheney shot him while aiming at quail on a Texas ranch on Saturday night.

White House press secretary Scott McClellan was peppered with rounds of skeptics' questions yesterday about why Cheney's office kept the incident — in which the veep resembled the hapless, shotgun-toting cartoon hunter who was always chasing "wabbits" — quiet for a day until the ranch's owner notified a local paper on Sunday.

<snip>
Ranch owner Katharine Armstrong said "it did not even occur" to her to call the sheriff's office until the next day, and she stressed that no one in the hunting party was drinking: "No, zero, zippo."

Ummm... yeah.... sure Ms. Armstrong... "never occured to you" and there was "zero, zippo" drinking. Coming from a woman who thinks it's acceptable to raise birds solely for stupid rich people who can't actually hunt worth a crap to shoot like fish in a barrel I think I'll pass on accepting your word for this. :puke:

Ya kno' what? My thigh high waders are wearing out again and I'll need yet another new pair. Do you think I could get some funding assitance from the government since it's their fault I need so many? :D

7. Cheney had implicit powers
under the Constitution
under the Second Commandment
under Osama the Bin Laden War Resolution Act
under the Lobbyist Enforced Contributions Doctrine
under Executive Privilege
to torture
or shoot
anybody he wants!
Especially lawyers!

The 24 hour delay was because they were trying to decide
whether they should send the guy to Gitmo as an enemy combatant.
