Speak Truth to Power
There's been a lot of talk on DU lately on what the Democratic slogan should be. I can't say that I've been impressed with any I've seen posted yet.

Will Pitt's eloquent (as usual) essay, "Trapped Like a Rat"

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=361601&mesg_id=361601

contained a phrase that we here on DU and others with a liberal, progressive, moderate, or practical bent in politics should pick up as our banner:

It's time to Speak Truth to Power

3. It was OFTEN used by JK and Teresa during campaign. Teresa's speech
at Dem Convention SPECIFICALLY referenced it. And JK since then has used it.

Don't know WHERE originally it was quoted from.

2. That's what happened to bush during CSK's funeral

4. It doesn't take much to get their hate machine cranked up. The higher
it cranks, though, the more you know a nerve was hit.

5. I also think "If not NOW...WHEN?" would be a good slogan.
A semi-passive defense of Dem's does tend to be 'tomorrow, tomorrow'... '2006'...'2008'...'not possible now.'

NO. We MUST seize the moment, live in the NOW in our WORDS, as well as our actions.

"If not NOW...WHEN?" is short, and catchy.

7. How about: "HONESTY IN SPEECH; INTEGRITY IN ACTIONS
OR SIMPLY: HONESTY AND INTEGRITY.....FOR A CHANGE.
