Mother of all ironies: Gonzales says senators could have done
something if they believed the wiretapping was illegal. But, whoever blew the whistle to the News paper about the wiretapping broke the law by leaking classified info. He says senators should have voiced their objections but they were sworn to not talk about classified information. He talked about both today without even realizing the irony when he was asked about pursuing the leaker.

2. beginning to wonder if the media "leak" was intentional as they
obviously want to renew the patriot act and want looser laws on who they can wiretap..amongst other things - IMO the patriot act is being re-written as we type..

3. That is exactly right
You've really hit the nail on the head here.

-Senators could have done something

-Senators sworn not to talk about it

Paint, meet corner.

And, let's investigate the newspaper reporters who leaked this stunning power grab; after all, they are the ones who are wrong.

rainy, have I got this right?

5. Yes, that is what I was picking up at the hearings
The republicans were asking many questions about going after the leaker as if they were treasonous for leaking classified info while they belittled the Dems for not speaking out if they thought it was illegal even though they would be leaking classified info. Go figure.

9. One of the talking points is:no Dem objected...
I know there were letters written, how many and by whom. Time to put this lie to rest.
