and it was painful to see the contrast between what IS and what Could Be.

11. I ordered season 2 on DVD last night...

I'm going to eventually buy the other three seasons that matter, but season 2 is probably my favorite. All of the State of the Union episodes from the first three seasons are pretty good. I'll probably watch the real SOTU tonight then watch Bartlet's third SOTU episode when I get my DVDs to escape back into fantasy land.
