Right about now you're probably asking yourself how do you undo the damage caused by the Traitorous 19 Senators. Well, I have a suggestion. Assuming they went against the party because they feared the right-wing would do to them what they did to Daschle, then the solution is simple. They have to fear you, more than they fear retaliation from the GOP.

So, target for replacement 1-3 of the Senators who turned against the party. Be realistic about your choices. As much as I'd love to have Lieberman on the short list, I don't believe his opponent is far enough along in the process to be competitive.

Once you make your choices, come up with a strategy and present it to us on DU. If it even sounds remotely plausible, I'll donate to the cause. I don't have much, but I never donated a dime to political parties before I found DU, and something is better than nothing.

Then, we'll wait for the primaries to see what happens. Consider it a science experiment. It sounds extreme, but take it from someone who has reached middle age and finds it hard to lose weight because their metabolism has slowed down. Sometimes you have to shock the system to get rid of the unsightly fat. I'm afraid that democracy is not going to work in this country unless we have at least two strong opposing parties to select from, and right now, nobody takes the Democratic party seriously. Not even your Senators.
