A recycled war from a recycled administration
I ran across this gem from a vintage NYT:

"United States officials were surprised and heartened today at the size of turnout in South Vietnam's presidential election despite a Vietcong terrorist campaign to disrupt the voting." (New York Times, September 4, 1967)

Can it be long before Buxh utters the words "peace with honor" or will he write this war's ending with something a bit more freestyle?

Almost certainly Buxh will be forced to implement some sort of withdrawal before he leaves office. If he makes only a symbolic draw-down, our soldiers will be caught amid a bloody civil war before his term ends.

If he removes our forces en mass, the government there will probably be overthrown and replaced with whoever has the firepower and support of the masses.
If he then attempts to retain a smaller "footprint" in that area we can expect the coup to be directed toward our troops with very unfortunate results.

Complete pullout appears the only option, with Chalibi and the other wealthy puppets clambering for a seat on that last helicopter out.
