Stephen Colbert last night
He said he was going to do something he had never done before.Take unscripted questions from the audience. It was a great mocking of bush*.The first lady said she did'nt have a question, but she just wanted to tell him what a great job he was doing. After 3 questions one lady tryed to cut in with an unscripted question. He was stumped. Hilarious.

1. It was good.
First responder from Stephen's audience was a soldier who said he was doing a great job, and then her question was something along the lines of 'shouldn't more people be asking you about what a great job you are doing?'

Next responder was an Iraqi Kurd.

2. You'll get moved, not LBN, but it sounds funny.
I love that character. He doesn't so much imitate O'rielly as perfect him.

5. Colbert has re-energenized satire
This is a terrific show with some of sharpest writing seen in decades.
Colbert's take on self-absorbed, self-righteous pundits is laser sharp. Colbert's interview segments are priceless.

I was a little critical of the Daily Show some months back, but it seems that the double punch is benefitting both programs now. TDS has seemingly regained it's sting as well.

10. Yeah and he answered that "unscripted" question with a "canned"
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 03:57 PM by applegrove
answer to the next question. And when the next "unscripted" question was asked - he was stumped. Cause he had already answered it.

Did that happen at Bush"s press conference? I didn't see the original Bush Q & A.

12. Colbert is very funny and smart......
and I'm impressed with the caliber of people who show up for interviews :loveya:

I'm starting to like him better than Jon and Keith ! Even with the poker lady last night, he was able to mention Bush's jaw-twitch when discussing reading "liar's faces".

Love his interviews with congressional district reps too !

And more, enjoy :hi:
