Photos of Arizona Rally for Dean Supporters and Well-Wishers

Does this look like they're turning out for a man whose candidacy is dead? No! I'm happy to see that Dean still has a lot of support in Arizona. This thread is for Dean Supporters and well-wishers, and I would appreciate it if there's only positive comments in here, not negative comments.

Thank you for not posting negative comments.

64. Dean in Tucson
As a Tucsonan I can witness that Dr. Dean's rally was held in Reid Park, here in Tucson with a very large crowd in attendance. Don't let the Neocons, Pollster's or the media-whores choose the Dem nominee. I like what a previous poster said here at DU, "If you aren't angry, you are not paying attention." If you are a supporter of Dr. Dean stand beside him, if you are not, truly listen to what he has to say before you pull the lever. He was the very first one to voice the problems and the dangers our country has and will have with another 4-years of George W.Bush and Thugs Inc. Dean is a voice to be heard and he has forced the other candidates to explain their own support or lack thereof on the issues that all voters will use to cast their vote. Democrats and now many true Republicans are not willing to listen and vote for the packaged slick Washington politician whose campaigns and promises sound like a high school English project.

I am an undecided voter, yet I appreciate Dr. Dean for speaking out and for his "Anger".....I call it patriotism and enthusiasm for his ideals. I am tired of campaign debaters calling each other "my friend" and tripping over each other with compliments. I don't want a friend in the Whitehouse I want a Leader. Apparently the young people get it...they are not so easily conned as us elders would like to believe.

he is an awful candidate.

I am ABB, but with Kerry it becomes a choice of the lesser of 2 evils...I hate that, because Dean was so close until the media (YES, they did) decided to destroy him...

45. Same old mem...different date.
It seems that some people are absolutely certain that Dean supporters are being "swindled" by Howard Dean and his "thuggery" type of deception.

I cannot speak for others, however, I'm very well aware of the "Dean record" in VT and it is a proud and cherished record of fiscal responsibility and sound social policies.

Detractors of the good Governor uses the same "hack job" to pull down a common man with a common sense approach to leadership by using the "litmus test". Democrats and Republicans have been nothing but "partisan hacks", beholden to their "party line" special interests and therefore a serious lack of ACCOMPLISHMENT.

People from both sides of the isle can bicker and whine about who is more responsible for their dismal failures. Yes, this accounts for all those failed "legistlative agendas" and the sheer lack of leadership which fosters inability to "get things done".

Yet leadership, requires not only critcising the opponent, but more importantly: criticising your own when they are wrong.
"Cockroaches"? You goddam right! Perhaps it would be better to show LEADERSHIP than...."Oh. I couldn't get anything done because my opponents were better than me".

The bottom line: Is the State of Vermont better or worse off under the governorship of one Howard Dean?

1. Economy? check!
2. Health Care? check!
3. Progressive Social Agendas? check!
4. Environment? check!

No wonder I consider myself an Independent.....

But, that's just my opinion.

62. This was a happy thread...
This is a nice, celebratory thread. I'm sorry some people had to try and ruin it. The diatribes and novella posts attacking Dean are about as welcome on a postive Dean thread as.. well.. as a fart in church.

Who do you support? Do you support any candidate, or are you just here to disrupt any nice thread about Howard Dean. If you have something positive to say about your candidate, I would welcome reading about it. See.. many of us may have to choose another candidate to support as the primary season goes on, and candidates drop out. It's much more effective to your cause, if your cause is to support a candidate besides Dean, to promote your guy.. all you're doing is making people dislike whomever you support. That's not fair to your candidate, is it?

I've thought that Dean best represented my point of view, way back when this all started. Like many, I too was discouraged by IA and NH, but dammit!, now is the time to come to the aid of the good Dr! I have sent yet another contribution to the campaign and will continue till the Dr is in the WH. Imagine, I had never given a penny to any candidate before Dr Dean, but with * controlling the WH, I had to do something. If this struggle for the soul of America is valid, then put your money where your mouth is! COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!

58. It isn't dead in AZ...
But I'd start making plans for the memorial service.

2 polls, one from Zogby, and one from the Arizona Republic have the following results:

The Republic Poll indicated Kerry was the choice of 27 percent of respondents, followed by retired Gen. Wesley Clark (18 percent), former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean (13 percent), Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman (10 percent) and Edwards (8 percent).

A Zogby International Poll of 600 voters conducted Tuesday through Thursday had Kerry with an even larger lead, pulling down support from 38 percent of respondents, followed by Clark (17 percent), Dean (12 percent), Edwards (6 percent), Lieberman (6 percent), Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio (2 percent) and the Rev. Al Sharpton (1 percent). It had 18 percent undecided.

http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0131poll31.html

BTW, I was polled by Zogby the other night, making me one of the 600 mentioned there.

63. Great photos!! Dean did really well in Seattle today, I heard..
The local media reported people standing in line to get in. I couldn't be in Seattle today (I'm 40 minutes away), but I knew he'd have an overflow crowd!

I was in Port Townsend today, and there were TONS of Howard Dean and Kucinich stickers and signs. Made my heart feel good. Dean is very well supporter in Washington. I wish he had had more time to visit Tacoma, or another city with more of a blue collar vibe. They are the ones that need to hear his message.
