Why are bush's ADVISORS -- SECRET??!!
Today at a press conference, GWB said that he has turned over all documents related to Katrina ... "Without, giving away, my ablity to get sound advice from the people on my staff. ... If people give me advice and they are forced to disclose that advice, it means the next time, ah, uh, an issue comes up, I might not be able to get unvarnished, advice from my, advisors, and that's just the way it works."

Huh?

I understand why news sources are kept secret. People have information that is they believe should be known to the public. This goes against the wishes of their superiors so they must keep the release secret to avoid unjust repurcussions.

But why does advice given to the President by his advisors need to be kept secret from the public? Is he being advised in a way that will cause dissent or shame if revealed? What kind of advice is this?

Supposedly the President is working for the good of the country and advisors give advice they believe will help him do this job. Why would this be kept secret? There may be differing opinions but that's simply healthy debate which can clarify issues for everyone.

What is he being told that must be kept secret at any cost from the American people? Huh?

2. Because then people would know who they are.
If his advisors are known, then people might try to influence then to give him bad advice. Besides, then they wouldn't be secret advisors and besides, 911 changed everythin.

6. Repeat after me: The Unitary Executive.
This bastard theory proclaims that the President rules all the agencies and commissions that Congress has set up to run within the Executive Branch. He has the absolute right to tell them exactly what they can and can't do, regardless of the law and of the Congress, because they report to him and are part of the Executive. The Executive Office is represented by one person ... the President. The Executive, essentially, IS the President. Therefore, only the President can give the parts of the Executive Branch orders and those orders cannot be questioned from outside the Executive Branch, which is, you see, the President.

Anybody who works for an agency of the Executive Branch, is, therefore, answerable only to the President ... not to Congress or the Courts. If they had to answer to the Congress, then Congress would be superior to the Executive, which would be a subversion of the Unitary Executive.

Je Suis Le President. L'Etat C'est Moi.

Got It?

Are they getting a paycheck from the federal gov't? Don't they work for us, the taxpayer? Any advice they give is paid for by all taxpayers in this country. Tell us what you told him! That should be an outcry from all of us 'peons'.
