Poll question: For better or for worse, is Dean angry on purpose?
Just a simple yes or no question.

1. yes, its forced
How many stories do you have to read about people from Vermont going "this isn't the governor I remember" to realize that Howard Dean is putting on a show.

He saw the anger in the anti-war crowd, channelled it, mirrored it, and made it his own.

It's that simple.

3. It is sincere as much as it is a strategic move
Apart from using the term "angry" ( you can spin it anyway you want for political effectiveness) his personality is as much a natural extension of his passion as well as a strategic move to incite passion and resolve in others.

In the art of persuasion there is a cost-benefit analysis in taking a confrontational approach. In some situations it may be beneficial and some it causes problems. However you can definitely say with Tripp and the new campaign manager as well as the strategist around him it is definitely a purposeful move on his campaign.

9. We have evidence
*shows picture of Dean tearing off the head of a lamb*
Ok I stole that from the daily show. As to the answer to the poll Q, I am not sure.

5. Anger is just a convenient label placed by
the right wing media. Very Rovian. They make a positive into a negative. Being angry at Bush and the Republicans in this country is entirely justified.

6. What do you mean by "on purpose?"
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 09:51 AM by HFishbine
On purpose becaues he's legitimately tired of the divisions in our country and of democrats capitulating to the Bush agenda; or do you mean on purpose as in an act?

8. obviously sincere
to say otherwise is preposterous. That's like me saying Kerry is lame on purpose.

...brought forth by the GOP & pink tutu Democrats, Bush & Bush lites.

Give 'em hell, just tell the truth and they think it's hell... HST.
