I JUST E-MAILED JOHN KERRY
I probably won't get a response but I needed to try.

I just told him that we need a Hero. Big time. And that he had it in him to do it.

Someone to just plain stand up and tell the truth and damn the torpedoes.

That we need someone with backbone. Who will tell the truth about everything. And slam the hell back.

You get the gist of it.

Now I'm just depressed because I know he probably won't even read it.

2. You might be surprised. He's
'dancing as fast as he can', as far as I can tell.
He has a great staff, he's been working his ass
off, he posted on Kos yesterday, he has his ear
to the ground, RE: all the FUBARs going on.
Kerry might not respond, but trust me, he's
listening.
Keep the faith, and Never Give Up!

4. I'm trying
I think Kerry could do it. But he would have to change his approach to stuff.

He would have to stop being polite and just go head to head with these guys. Never give up, never give an inch. And always just tell the plain truth.

I think he can do that.

6. He learns from his mistakes
And would do things very differently if he gets the chance. And I heard this coming directly from him.

7. O don't know anyone else we've got that could do better.
I don't think he left anyone out to dry. He just got blindsided with the smear campaigns. Remember - he almost won.

But there has to be a way to counter attack those smear attacks. And counter really fast. Like the same day. And counter attack with a vengeance. A take no prisoners and I have an attitude kind of vengeance.

8. you're asking him to be something other
than himself. No possible. Find a new hero. Be your own hero. Write to your newspaper, your congresscritters, keep speaking out everyday, but John Kerry is Skull and Bones to the core. (Just MHO of course)

9. Yeah - his 5 years exposing BCCI really proved that, eh?
Edited on Sat Jan-21-06 01:06 PM by blm
Are you so unaware of what happened in BCCI?

The entire DC powerstructure, including the Dem party, ostracized the man for years because he went after ALL the connections, and exposed the corruption.

Your S&B smear is childishly uninformed, as it has been proven time and again by researchers of S&B that Kerry never ONCE used any S&B connection to attain any of his positions in life.

Hell, Gore and Clinton did more for the S&B crowd than Kerry ever did. Gore had his media feast on dirty song lyrics which took the focus off IranContra and BCCI investigations. And it was Clinton who sided with Greenspan OVER Kerry when he refused to open the books on BCCI when he took office. Those two acts of naivete helped BushInc, not the US.

16. Look at what Kerry has done with his life since 1970
Even if I made the assumption that the club he joined in college was behind the evil done by the Bush's there is more reason to believe that he changed in Vietnam - which is what many people say. He joined a club that included many people from the Kennedy administration which he admired. I assume that most college juniors (seniors) would be very awestruck in being picked as one of a small number selected.

If you look at his life, it is one of consistently doing the right thing. He has fought the right wing more often than anyone in politics that I can think of - he fought Nixon, Reagan, and both Bushes.

Why would you ignore his words and action of the last 35 years and concentrate on a club he joined in college?

17. you better believe...
The Nam' experience changes a man, especially if he is regularly put in the position of making life and death decisions about friends he loves. Kerry is one of the few, the proud, the brave, nope not Marines: He's one of the three Democratic leaders willing to make a stand and call these Nazis by their real names.

18. his performance during the last election cycle
disappointed me beyond any words. I do not think John Kerry is a bad person and he has done many good things, but in his words, he voted for the war before he voted against it, and in the last hard crush of the election, he caved. He did not say a single word, he didn't wait for anyone to come out of the box and say, election fraud, he just jumped right up and conceded. Sorry, that isn't my idea of a hero.

19. yeah...
But your idea of a hero isn't mine. It doesn't matter what our idea of a hero is because we didn't start this board. When you catch me belittling ANYONE'S idea of a hero in our Democratic leadership I hope you flame me to hell. Until then, don't bash what few leaders we have willing to speak out against the tyranny or someone's Democratic hero around me.

5. I don't believe that.
But I do think they should just completely throw out the stuff from being a hero 30 years ago.

We need a hero for right now.

10. It really doesn't matter whether he personally reads your letter
Someone at his headquarters will read it, only to be touched by your faith, honesty and humanity. Traits like that are contagious. Even if it got lost in cyberspace your ideas have already created a ripple-effect as the butterfly wings flutter in from your distant state. Have you ever heard the story of the butterfly in Africa that changed the world?

13. Hey, you never know.Your email might be the one that makes a difference.

This is the guy who jumped off that boat and ran after that VC and dispatched him. That was an incredible thing to do (some would say brave, some might say reckless). But this is a guy who is not afraid of a fight.

15. I don't care about Presidential
I just care about someone who is not afraid to just plain tell the truth - and then stand behind it.

Its been so long since we have had anybody we could trust.

I really think that Kerry just needs to up the Passion in his presentation and kick butt.

Lefty, your last post really brings to mind Russ Feingold, but like I said earlier, choose your hero and defend him/ her come Hell or high water.

22. I know there are Kerry fans on this one
But what he needs to be e-mailed about was his weak answers on "This Week" today. He was totally unprepared for the host to be an attack dog, and he should have known better. The answers about Karl Rove and intelligence lacked any of the depth I saw when he ran last year.

But to be fair, Kerry's finest moment had to do with Alito and why he's voting against his nomination.
