I could hardly believe my ears. Lou gets things right most of the time IMHO. He and some guests were talking about the WaPo ombudsman fiasco.

He mentioned the controversy surrounding WaPo claims that Abramoff gave money to Democrats as well as repukes, that's when he said that Democrats got about a third.

1. End. Of. Discussion.
Legal counsel for the Democratic Party should be issuing 'cease and desist' letters to EVERYONE who states this publicly. Either NAME the specific people you're alleging took money, or SHUT UP.

And of course, should you name specific names and be proven wrong, you've just bought yourself (and your newspaper, publisher, TV network) a big fat LIBEL suit.

8. END OF DISCUSSION-----DONE & DONE...
Stop wasting time informing Dobbs et al.
Theres' simply too much information out there
exposing Bush Inc. & the GOP for the scum
they are, and still newsies don't expose them

Either Dobbs in an idiot or he's just another
media-whore spinning what lines the GOP
tells him to speak.

There's too much info about Bush, Abramoff
and all these scumbags to keep getting it
wrong day after day, night after night.

All the misinformation is delibarate as Hell.

13. Of course it's deliberate - that's obvious.
And that's why the Dems should be using legal means to stop it. Appealing to the news media is pointless - but the threat of a lawsuit isn't.

Imagine a Lou Dobbs saying publicly on his show: "I know that several teachers at P.S. 192 in Newark are pedophiles." He never mentions individuals, just keeps repeating that line over and over.

How long do you think it would take before that school board's lawyers were on his case, demanding that he name the individuals outright, or stop making the allegation?

Where are the Dem's lawyers?

2. It appears
(as written on some other blogs) that Dobbs said 1/3 of the Abramoff and ASSOCIATES money went to dems. They are still trying to hook the dems in by inferring the money from the Indian tribes was money abramoff directed...therefore his money. It doesn't wash...but in Republicspeak...keep repeating lies till they become the "truth".

5. So were there any Democrats there to counter his allegations?
I didn't watch.. so I have no clue.

Big Eddie went in to lengthy detail today about the non-involvement of Democrats in this REPUBLICAN SCANDAL.

He also discussed the reason Thugs are trying to make it an "equal opportunity scandal" in the minds of the public.

What a bummer to listen to a show like his and feel so good about what this trial will expose on the Rethugs.. then to read this complete B.S. from the mouth of Lou Dobbs..

9. Here's what was said and who participated in the discussion
From the transcript, here is what Lou said:

"The Washington Post" has shut down one of its blogs after a "Washington Post" executive wrote that disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff gave money to Democrats as well as Republicans. The comments weren't well received by many "Washington Post" blog readers. In fact, using the blog to launch highly personal attacks against ombudsman Deborah Howell.

For the record, about one-third of the money from Jack Abramoff and his clients did, in fact, go to Democrats and two-thirds to Republicans. That's the reality. Don't blog me. It's the fact.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0601/20/ldt.01.html

Also from the transcript, here are the three individuals who were invited to participate in the discussion:

Joining me now here, Joe Klein, columnist for "Time Magazine," the eminent columnist for "Time Magazine," Jeffrey Toobin, our eminent legal analyst and in Boston, Massachusetts, former ambassador to four presidents, yes equally eminent, David Bergen.

Please note: Lou said, "...money from Jack Abramoff and his clients...". Since Abramoff himself did not give any money to Democrats, his statement is not based in fact as he claims. It is true, but highly misleading, to say that some of Abramoff's clients gave money to Democrats. But it's a plain lie to say that Abramoff himself did.

11. Ask Dobbs about Bush and Abramoff

I heard on AirAmerica that it came out that Bush had a private dinner with Abramoff and the Indian Chief at the center of the scandal to thank them for their financial support. Abramoff donated $100,000+ to the Bush campaign, no doubt coming from the Indians.
