Poll question: How Should I Spend My 2006 Donation Budget ? $500 - Virginia Edition
I sent it all to the DNC in '04, but maybe that was not wise? Looking to my fellow DUers for guidance now.....there's time :hi:

Hopefully this will also be an exercise in "How Best to use our Campaign Dollars Wisely" in all our states!

I intentionally left off voting, liberal, 2007 and 2008 candidates PACs.

2006,2006,2006 !

Thanks for your help.

1. I'd say send it all to me
But I'm not running for anything this year.

Pick a couple of candidates you really like, and give it to them. That way you know it's being used for candidates you like.

But I've gotta give a plug for my favorite.

3. I'm leaning towards small contributions
to candidates I like ... like Hackett, and the rest of the Band of Brothers running this year !

I bookmarked John Russell :hi: Thanks!!!

4. But my $10 to Ohio's Hackett really
shook up the DNC last year. Probably why I'm even considering tip-toeing out of the state. Thanks, great advice :hi:

6. Send a little to the DNC as a vote of confidence in Dean. Send the
rest to candidates you like.

8. The beauty of the Internets...
we can target our donations to those who share our vision and whom we feel will carry those
visions forward. Also, a person who receives donations & encouragement from 'non-constiuents'
on some scale may 'think' outside the box of his or her gerrymandered district. This could
bode well...just think...politicians who actually had to consider the majority.

Could this form the basis for publicly financed campaigns?

9. Oh, yes indeed....I "vote" with my dollars in other
worthy causes, why not directly to those who "speak for me".

Thank you!

15. Absolutely !
This is hard work! Also, $500 doesn't go very far. There's also this lovely website I just discovered, even though I'm didn't want to include PACs :

16. Ten $50 Contributions
Post them here so we are constantly reminded of all the important Senate and Congressional 06 races. Others will be inspired! Don't forget VA, of course!

CORRUPT REPUBLICANS must be thrown out in 06. Sooner is better.

18. Send $50.00 to Dennis Hastert's
opponent. Few Democratic dollars find their way into this district and it is likely a losing cause, but someone will love you!

21. Other...
Keep it, you'll probably need it. $60 more will buy you an ounce of gold. That could come in very handy some day.

I'm not sending a dime until I see some REAL ACTION.

Hope he bites as hard as Hackett *snork* but "our" opponent is Thelma "lips firmly planted on Delay/Abramoff tooshies" Drake.

And, have passed this tidbit along to Ashe too ! As in "grow some" this year..yeah!

28. Send a third to the ACLU, a third to your nearest Planned Parenthood, and
a third to the challenger of loathsome, Abramoff-tainted Montana Senator Conrad Burns, which will be one of these guys:

32. Good Topic
I struggle with this all the time. I also struggle with how do I divide my time? There are only so many hours in a day!

I, of course, could never give to a Republican but the Dems are so disappointing now that I wish I had the money to start a third party that would be as relevant as the present two. Maybe I will win the lottery one day and start that party and you can donate to them. They will definitely be on a page more of "us" can support.

I am finding that all my donations and time are being reactive as opposed to being proactive. I would give to a ham sandwich before I could support George Allen! I wish I could love a candidate as much as I hate George Allen and Eric Cantor!
