The New Year should bring hope and joy to everyone, but unfortunately, 2006 is proving to be unhappy for many African American seniors who hoped to receive the prescription-drug benefits of the new Medicare Part D law on Jan. 1.

3. It is a scam....

Having navigated the maze of options for my mom, I was getting frustrated with the endless choices given. Each choice made could possibly benefit or hurt the recipient. I'm semi-computer literate and had one "heck" of a time weighing those options. It's like trying to understand the fine print from hundreds of plans instead of one.

Imagine those elderly poor who may not have a younger technically adept family member to help them out. They should not have to go thru this.

I hate them repug bastards.
