ABB ought to be reserved until after the primaries.
ABB has always been about voting for the nominated candidate, not voting for the "most electable" candidate or the "best issue" candidate. After the primaries, whoever is nominated, gets the vote; this is the premise behind ABB.

I see many a people here using ABB to uphold their candidate, "If you don't vote for my candidate, you're not ABB, because your candidate is unelectable."

Fun troll, huh? I've had it happen to me, in a thread about civil rights, even! A candidate can't be too pro-civil rights or no one will vote for them! Can you imagine that? I can get you the thread if you want.

Another fun one is "Your candidate is Bush-lite so if you're ABB you wouldn't vote for him!" Nice twist of logic, eh? I like it.

Hey, I'm ABB all the freaking way, but I'm tired of the media and a few small states deciding who wins the presedency. I think it should be up to the voters themselves to go out and check out what's going on rather than watching the national news and voting the way everyone else is. If we keep up this "ABB but you should pick my candidate" crap, we're not going to go anywhere.

I'm not accusing any one group of doing this, though, because it happens from all sides. Hell, maybe I've even said it before, and I regret it if I did. It's not healthy.

Okay, sorry for rambling.

1. I agree
People try to use my screen mane against me saying it's funny I critisize somebody with the name Democrats unite. I firmly believe in my screen name, But I also firmly believe I have the right to crtisize somebody before the nominee is picked. I want the right man as the nominee, not who the media whores tell us that man is.

2. there are few delegates decided after March 16th, however...

by your logic....nobody can UNITE until after the last primary election, which currently is on June 8th for Montana....

your logic will certainly result in more infighting, and lots less money with which to attach the shrub....

IMO, this primary was won as of January 19th...and everyone should UNITE now, as they promised...absolutely nothing has changed since January 19th, except Kerry has gotten stronger....

all the fighting on DU is tearing apart the chances of beating bush*, and totally violating the promises made here....

go Kerry...beat bush*

3. "this primary was won as of January 19th"
That is the MOST DISPICABLE THING I HAVE EVER READ ON DU.

I'm done with DU for tonight. I can't take it.

17. Y'know I've been a Kerry supporter forever and I don't
believe it's over, I didn't believe it was over 2 months ago when Dean was getting all the endorsements and everyone said Dean was inevitable.

I also didn't threaten any Dean supporters when they gloated.

If you are really going to hold back support because of what people say on the internet, then that's just sad.

14. You make excellent points,
and I applaud you.

The one thing that goes on around here on this issue that makes me want to vomit is people who say that if their guy doesn't get it, they won't vote ABB. That scares me.

However, I may have to just live with my fear until the nominee is decided.

18. I agree..it should remain an open race; I disagree, Kerry can beat *
He is beating him already 49-46 in the latest Newsweek poll. This can only get better, should he get the nomination.

You are way off base to suggest he cannot win.

ABB can beat *.

6. I have never seen ABB used that way.
I cannot see how ABB can mean anything but ABB. A stands for ANYBODY.
In the world of logical thinking that would mean that we Dems would vote for any candidate but Bush. If there is any other way to explain this, have at it. I may say I think my candidate is better than yours but if yours wins, he gets my vote.

7. I agree but to expand on your point about a few
states deciding our nominee I have noticed they are almost all Red states. Why do we have republican states picking the Democratic nominee?

15. I agree 100%. Those who criticized my post may have misunderstood.
It should have been obvious that I was not a stealth Kerry supporter; I had to indicate this in a reply post.

My only point was, and the mods agree, after the convention we must coalesce and support the DEMOCRATIC candidate.

That's what I meant to convey in the post.

I don't care who you support now; that's what primaries are all about. I want Gore. He is not running.

I would prefer Clark or Dean over Kerry. I like Kerry, with reservations (his war vote, "get over it", etc.) I have posted an open letter to him which was very critical.

If Kerry is the one, he gets my vote. Even Holy Joe would get it.

But to vote for Nader in 2004 is insane, for it will only help Diebold steal it once again.

I was referring to the election on Nov.4, not the primaries...
Those who say they would NOT vote for Kerry for President are totally whacked out. That's my opinion.

ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...ABB...
