I don't mean to suggest we copy from the Pubs, but sometimes they ARE more efficient then we are! I think it's IMPORTANT that we keep this kind of information prominent in the minds of our party membership, and if it's not shown prominently, we need to make it so!

1. more efficient?
why? 'cause they don't spell so good?

'cause they ignore those pesky facts?

the only claim is that they're automatons... I guess you could think of that as efficient.

2. No that's not what I meant by efficient.
I'm talking about getting their messages out. Think about it. Even WE know what the Pub positions are on almost every issue. Can we say the same thing about our Dems?

I'm not suggeesting that we be LIKE the Pubs at all. But I know I've seen the question here on DU several times "How many open seats are there going to be in 06, and where are they?" I'd like all Dems to KNOW they can get this kind of info on the front page of the DNC web site, and know it's constantly up to date!

3. No, the reality is they have a grassroots organizations

that rival none. They have tapped into all types of local, regional and national structures.

For all the talk about stolen elections and diebold, the real reason we have almost no power within the DC power circles, is because we are twenty years behind the times when it comes to grass roots organization. The good news we are catching up.

As for being automatons, don't kid yourself. The opposition side believes just as strongly in their political ideas as we do. They have well thought out plans and implement them well.

......and in the process we get our asses kicked.

As long as people like yourself continue to believe the other side is stupid, ignorant mindless drones, they will smile and behind their foolish grins will lurk a silent pleasure in knowing you are the clueless one.

5. Dems should copy from Republicans
There's a reason they win election afet election, despite being dramtically out of step with the public on most of the issues.

Even though a lot have used the terms DNC, DSCC, and DCCC a lot, some are not aware of all the things that are at the websites that are useful for looking things up and staying up to date.

Here is the website from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee of which Rahm Emanuel is chairman.

http://www.dccc.org/races /

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, with Chuck Schumer at the helm, has one as well for the Senate races.

http://www.dscc.org/2006races /

The Democratic National Committee of whih Howard Dean is chair has a page which tells what is going on in the various states as far as organizing goes.

http://www.democrats.org/local.html

The Democratic Governor's Association has a great website as well.

http://www.democraticgovernors.org /

The DLC is not part of the party proper, it is a think tank, so I am not listing it here.

Here is the whole Democratic organization on this page at the DNC. Keep it handy.

DNC State pages...find out what is going on in your state.
