Kerry jumped on the badwagon and voted IWR, Patriot Act, Wire-tapping

Now that the popular thing is to be against the war, we hear Kerry tell us he's against it. At least Leiberman has more balls to stand by his vote.

Kerry: I voted for the "process"

How Clintonesque. It depends on what the meaning of "is" is.

I read the IWR and it gave the President the authority.
If Kerry thought it was something else then he shouldn't have voted for it.

PERIOD!!!!

Kerry tells us Ashcroft is dangerous. Then why did he vote for the Patriot Act and Wire-tapping?

Jump on the band wagon Kerry now it's comming out that parts of the Patriot Act are unconstitional (recently ruled by a judge)

So now Kerry tells us he will fight for our civil liberties.
Why didn't he do that when he had the chance to vote.

Kerry jump on the bandwagon!!!!!!

2. "So now Kerry tells us he will fight for our civil liberties."
The only things Kerry will fight for are his Presidential ambitions.

7. I guess you think
500+ dead AMERICAN soldiers doesn't matter!!!!

Or the over 9000 American casualties don't matter.

Why don't you tell it to the families of those that it doesn't matter.

15. Biden-Lugar wouldn't have stopped the war in Iraq, either.
You accept Dean's support of Biden-Lugar, yet blame Kerry for IWR which was essentially the same bill. Go figure.

9. Kerry sent up legislation to overturn parts of Patriot Act 2 months ago.
And it's YOUR guy, Dean, who has the worst civil liberties record of all the candidates and SUGGESTED a Patriot Act days after 9-11. Or have you forgotten?

Edited on Fri Jan-30-04 06:04 PM by pnziii
Kerry actually VOTED for it.

And only now sends legislation to repeal it when he sees the majority doesn't like it.

Kerry's on the bandwagon again!

19. Every single Senator except Russ Feingold voted for it!
Including that well-known bandwagon enthusiast, Paul Wellstone, and a bunch of other liberal icons. Everybody was panicked by 9/11 and nobody (except possibly Sen. Feingold) foresaw how Ashcroft would subvert it. All you've proved here is that Kerry is human and subject to the same kinds of pressures as other humans.

28. Yes, but we actually read the thing!
The Senators didn't! And yes, I'm ticked off at Kerry, Edwards and Lieberman, as well as every other Senator who dodged they're responsibilities. They all failed us (except for Feingold) and now three of them want to be President. They want us to trust their judgement and trust that they will stand up for us. They didn't stand up when it counted because they were afraid of being labeled "unpatriotic" and it could hurt their reelection campaigns ... and that's what they were thinking about. Not about us - about themselves. Why should I trust them? Do they think "presidential" decisions are going to be any easier?

How many is that so far today, pnziii?

Do you have a preferred candidate? Why don't you tell us what's right about him instead of what's wrong with Kerry?

15. So now the 49 Republicans and Zell Miller who voted Aye

stuck it to Halliburton and Bechtel in spite of the resistance of
all but two Dems? This board is getting more bizarre every day.

What happened was that it was the choosing of two evils. Halliburton and Bechtel would handle building back the electrical grid and schools(which I feel is rewarding the two companies.) These were considered the so-called "low priorities". Bomb disposal was considered the high priority because it would mean that it would make the Iraq people more helpless when it came to the rape.

The people to blame were the 296 Representatives and 77 Senators that approved what happened in the first place.

I would have voted "present" on this bill.
