The natural drift of Indian Tribes...
...Is toward democrats....Any natural explanation of Indian contributions should be at best 75/25 denocrat with the 25% being a sop to those in power...and for any Tribe NOT represented by Abramhoff I believe that holds...but for the Tribes he represented???

1. Hmmm, don't know about other places
where there are rich casino owning tribes.

However, most of the Tribes around these parts are poor. If they have casino operations, such casinos are marginal; large customer bases are lacking.

Therefore, Tribes around these parts have very little money to contribute, and although I don't know absolutely for sure, I believe that contributions by tribes from this area range from negligible to none at all.

However, Indians from this area VOTE strongly Democratic, sometimes in excess of 90% Democratic.

2. Like any good businessmen...
they also knew that the money and power was in the Republican party. What I think happened is they found out that even though they had millions they were small change to Abramoff, Delay, etc.

3. Drift of Indian Tribes
On my Native Unity blogspot column, I work closely with a group called Native Voter and the drift is toward the Democratic party. Very few Republican candidates even bother with the tribes unless they have casino holdings but most of the Tribal Councils, now, have learned their lesson from Abramoff -

4. Nice to meet you Bobbieo and welcome
I'm quarter Cherokee/Delaware and 1/32nd Osage. I've been trying to follow the Abramoff/Casino story and wasn't surprised that once again we were used as pawns by the political machine. I'm surprised that the gubmint hasn't shut down reservation gaming yet. Is it any wonder why Native Americans wouldn't trust the government?

...I'm at least 1/32 cherokee and crazy as Hell...My Irish family were at best indiscriminate breeders...While we admit both German and French influences, and more recently black/afro-american influences through at least 2 generations, and a ton of italian influence....the fact that our surname is english is SO embarassing to us "Black Irish" Lads....
