1. Why do they always ask this question for the congress as a whole?
Wouldn't it be much more telling if they asked two questions.. "Do you approve of the Democrats in congress" and "Do you approve of the Republicans in congress"?

4. That's been done and ratings tend to be identical.
I'm pressed for time right now, but you can look it up on pollingreport.com

I think the reason they tend to be identical is that Americans don't like to spend the time to differentiate.

6. When questioned, most Americans say...
say they don't like Congress as a whole, but they think their own person is great. Thus, you are correct, most of the crooks will return to Congress.

7. Too true........
people hate everyone else's Congressmen, not their own. Their own Congressmen are looking our for them and wouldn't do anything that was not in their best interests. :eyes: It's going to take good Democratic candidates to point out the inconsistencies in this mind-set. The Republicans as a whole cannot be trusted, they cannot be relied upon to do the people's business. That is the single most important piece of information that we must drive home before the '06 elections.
If it's not Democratic, it's C-R-A-P!

3. More useful:
Do you approve or disapprove of your own Senator?
Do you approve or disapprove of your own Representitive?
