I sent this letter to the White House on my way to work
Dear George,

Last night, I spoke to my sister for an hour and a half on the phone. We discussed the TV show Lost and the upcoming season of The Shield. During the third period of the Rangers-Islanders NHL game, I called my friend to celebrate as The Rangers were pouring it on, 6-2. If you come across these calls, please delete them from your phone records.

Thank you.

I just sent mine. I hope it wasn't too harsh.

Dear George,

Last night I had a turkey & mayo sandwich, watched a CSI New York rerun, and talked to my mother on the phone. We discussed the amazing fact that despite her propensity to watch Fox News, she has been able to discern that you are lying scum. If you come across this call, please delete it from your phone records.

Thank you.

3. "The Rangers" = "the insurgents"?
No way, my friend. That call is going straight into the Total Information Awareness database for further analysis. Don't travel far.

5. Sheesh! With a name like that, how could he NOT be a threat??
I mean, it sounds so... foreign!

Hey, he should change his name to Bailey. That's what Mr. Josefowicz, founder of The Lincoln Group, did.

7. Well the Isles have a player
named Miroslav Satan (Shay-tan). With a name like that, he might be a threat. Not any of my rangers.

8. Oh, yeah, now even I have heard of him!
I asked my son, the sports fan, for confirmation and he explained that it's pronounced "Shay-tan", as you said.

Sort of like "Lou Cipher" in the movie "Angel Heart".

Hey, is that guy any relation to Dick Cheney?

9. Surprised you'd heard of Satan
but not Jagr.

10. It's because of my son.
He laughed about the name. He and I found it especially funny b/c we live in a red state where there are probably people around who seriously think that the guy must be a "devil" because of his surname.

Seriously.

These are the same people who get all upset about Halloween.

6. Dear Snoops
I played some online poker last night (lost badly, but it's only play money). I also watched the I-dunno Bowl or whatever it was between Nebraska and Michigan. The announcers seemed quite exercised that Michigan was getting screwed on call after call and had to keep calling time out to get close plays reviewed. And then the replay confirmed the call on the field. There may be something there to investigate.

Oh, and I had a couple of chocolate-covered cherries, which I like a lot.

Thanks for your interest!

11. Mr. pResident:
This morning I had a phone visit with an old friend who wasn't aware that Citgo is owned by Venezuela and has donated heating oil to needy persons here in the U.S. When you come across this call in your records, make damned certain that you make note of the fact that Chavez actually cares more about our poor here in the U.S. than you do.

Oh, yes! While you're at it, also make note of the fact that you're not actually our president and don't even make a good pretender.
