I've heard more than one story about people drawing their last breath on the wrong end of a Taser. Of course, that's not the biggest problem I have with them. Since Tasers are thought of as being nonlethal, and usually don't leave visible marks, I can't help but think that there are some bottom-feeder cops using them as an instrument of torture.

Tasers are dangerous and very often, leathal weapons.

Other avenues were available to the cops to subdue the man.

What's up with the "Rambo" attitude that we've seen caught on tape twice in the last couple months?

These guys are trained in hand to hand combat, they have batons and dogs and tear gas and as you said riot shields so what's up with the shoot'em full of holes and handcuff'em later for the ride to the morgue attitude?

departments across the nation. The "us against them" mentality.

4. Who is left at the NOLA Police Dept.?

We know they lost a bunch of people--.

Actually, I live in a big city, and we have had some of these incidents where the cops shoot and kill people who are waving knives around. This is despite having a policy where supposedly you gradually escalate your response to a person you are trying to deal with.

There has been some stuff going on with lasers lately, as people are finding that there are deaths from using them, as well.
