bu$h´s xmas song quote--the song actually calls bu$h a mocker of peace!
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 03:23 PM by Democrats_win
During bu$h´s Dec. 18th (Sunday night) speech, he quoted a line from a xmas song by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow that was written during the Civil War and probably inspired by the serious injury his son suffered during a battle.

Given that bu$h started the war in Iraq, I think another verse from Longfellow´s Christmas Bells is more appropriate.

Here´s the verse that bu$h quoted:

"God is not dead; nor doth he sleep!
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!"

Here´s the preceding verse:

And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;
"For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"

1. and who are the guys he quotes: 'This is a thorn in the eye...
...of the terrorists!"
and the other guy, asked, according to Bush, if he was Sunni or S'hia, replied "I am iraqi!"
Just a little too pat, I'd say. I want to see them, hear them confirm they said those words.

Reminds me too much of the Nixon campaign parade where Nixon stopped to meet a little girl carrying a sign...
'bring us together' the sign read.
wow. how touching. front page, newspapers all over the country.
it was a setup.
the kid was a campaign worker's child.
the sign was made by a campaign worker.

introduce us to those people who so conveniently made statements for you to quote, Dubya.

2. Amazing! Shows how sincere bush is. Hiding failure behind anecdotes.
