Chris Matthews?
I was reading over mediamatters 2005 Matthews as misinformer of the year. Can someone explain why Matthews is so infatuated with George? I am being serious. Why does he kiss his ass so much?

3. He likes any macho men that he thinks is "tough"
You can hear him go on and on about anyone who he thinks "tells the truth" - as crazy as that truth might be.

6. Well, he voted for Bush in 2000
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 02:40 PM by Mabus
"MATTHEWS: I make this president look like -- you don't watch this program, Alexandra. That has never been the case with me. And anybody watching knows right now, we treat this guy with respect. I happen to like him. I voted for him at least once. I'm not going to go any further on that. But the idea that we treat him like a dunce is just inaccurate.

<...>

MATTHEWS: Just to straighten the record out, Alexandra, back in the 2000 race, I was one of the few journalists that pointed out that George W. Bush did extremely well in those debates against Al Gore. In fact, I said he won in terms of personality, in terms of likability and fairness and on other grounds. I was the one who took a lot of heat for taking that position.

From the beginning, I've defended him on issues like saying Jesus Christ is his personal philosopher. I've defended him against the liberal elitists who did put him down. So, I don't think it's fair to say that I have in any way abused him. Do you want to take that back or do you want to start over or what here? "

source, Media Matters: http://mediamatters.org/items/200505310005

and, according to the wikipedia, "In December 2005, Matthews' brother Jim announced that he was a Republican candidate for Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Matthews

7. Tweety in an empty-brained prattler.
His rude willingness to override the most thoughtful of comments with his own shallow fart bubbles is his only tool. With the power to do anything they want to you, find out every time you wiped your ass since five years old, I can, in a sympathetic moment, understand how someone with a lot to lose could be manipulated. Tweety has a lot to lose and if the kindred spirits prevail in this fight and some measure of cooperation is restored in D.C., he's out of a job. Who would hire that jackoff for ANYTHING else?

9. He's intriguing
I think he thinks he is a fair person with no ax to grind either way. However, he is patriarchal and condescending in my opinion. Sometimes, however, he does ask the question I want answered. I he once skewered Michele Malkin, which was fun.

I think he is pretty much a gung ho political wonk. He's into pomp and circumstance. During the Reagan funeral he practically exploded with the sheer excitement of it all.

And of course he is a Catholic's Catholic. He really is part of a vanishing breed, which might be a good thing.

But I wish he'd wipe his bottom lip more.

11. Do you remember, in the last year or so, when Tweets was BOYCOTTED
by the RNC?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5727982/

<snip>
On last night’s Hardball, he asked Bush-Cheney '04 Sr. Strategist Matthew Dowd and Sr. Advisor to the Kerry-Edwards campaign Tad Devine on whether or not the way the interview was used is fair.

“The impression John Kerry was trying to leave when he was up against Howard Dean in the primary was he was the anti-war candidate after he voted for the resolution,” Matthew Dowd said. “You asked John Kerry a yes or no question. And he said ‘yes, absolutely.’”

“I want to be perfectly fair here,” Chris Matthews told Dowd. “Eight million supporters of the president received a videotape. Do you think that was a fair cropping of what he had to say? You cut him off after he said, yes. And you did not let him continue on to say, ‘in the sense that I don‘t believe the president took to us war as he should have.’”

Matthews went further and asked Dowd to ask the president to stop claiming that Kerry “declared himself the anti-war candidate.” “Is the president going to keep saying that something that was said on this show wasn‘t said? Would you like to have your sentences cut down like to a third of their length and let people decide on the first three or four words what you meant by the 20 words? I think you guys should consider taking this off your loop. I think the president ought to be shown this tape so he knows what he‘s talking about, instead of having it fed to him by somebody who doesn‘t show them full sentence.”

</snip>

It pissed off the RNC so much that they boycotted his show for the next week until the ass-kissing came back.

12. Because Tweety goes and kisses where he thinks the power is
and as he is not that good at what he does, he needs all the help he can get. However, in this case, he will be on the wrong side I think because this power group is losing their grip. By by Tweety.
