I listened and it appears they are fixed on getting Cheney out of the picture and they believe he is the main ingredient creating fascism. The caller had no qualms whatsoever about calling it fascism and stating that Cheney and banking friends are working to collapse the economy and it's coming soon.

When I attempted to inject election fraud into the conversation because as long as they keep stealing elections we'll never get them out, I was cut off and told that there will be no more elections if we don't get rid of Cheney because they will create a police state. That felt a little too radical and yet ................

Found this website - http://www.larouchepac.com/

Still, I'm looking for some DU input on both the man and the group. Anyone here have experience with, thoughts on, or feedback about this?

1. Fruitcake.
Complete and total fruitcake. A friend is a longtime LaRouchie and I took some of his material and read it through. Real :tinfoilhat: stuff. The Queen of England and Egypt and worldwide currency trading and all kinds of way out there stuff.

But I'm starting to think they may be slightly less dangerous nutbags than the ones currently occupying the White House.

Move if you have to. Do not engage them in conversation. They are the political equivalents of a religious cult.

18. I ran into them in Boston during the DNC
They were everywhere. I was wearing a "F#@k you Cheney" t-shirt and they tried to latch on to me. I thought I'd never get rid of them. They travel in groups and are as annoying as tribbles.

info booth on a street corner in Seattle recently. Made the further mistake of giving him info and now I can't get them to quit calling. Good advice about the phone number change ...the reason I even stopped to talk was their anti-Cheney stuff.

13. Run, run, run away like a little bunny!
These people are wacked. They called me and we got into a pretty heated debate. I told them that they had some good, possibly valid ideas, but that they sorely needed to change their image and verbiage in order to convince Joe Schmo about possible impending fascism.

I told them they came across as too wacko (true, right?) and the guy went into an ego-maniacal mini-rage, saying that they recruit plenty of college students each year. I said any group can do that, college students are like lemmings half the time, they'll follow anyone who seems rebellious.

Then he sputtered that he'd been doing this for something like twenty years, he knows what he's doing and saying. I said, "If you've been at this for twenty years, you should have a hell of a lot more to show for it by now." He was pissed.

But really, I'm sick of groups like this giving Democrats a bad name by acting like a bunch of crazed idiots.

I also thought they would never get through to Joe Schmo which is who they would need to convince.

8. Ok so you got the nutbag part.
However just because LaRouche is a nutcase, and an opportunistic nutcase, doesn't mean that he is entirely wrong in his analysis of the System of the World. He presupposes the existence of a cabal, a secretive controlling organization that is behind much of what is and has been going on in the world for most of 'modern' history. Who and what constitutes The Cabal is a matter of speculation, and Lyndon's speculations can be somewhat bizarre (e.g. the queen of england is a major player.) What I think is no longer fruitcake is that there is in fact a cabal and it is secretive and has been manipulating world events for its own purposes for quite a while.

20. And that's just it.
There was real information there that I either already believe or would not be surprised to believe if there was some proof available.

The "cabal" thing is already known - just not the full membership and extent of power.

After watching Tony Blair kiss Bush's boots (and accept a job with Carlyle Corp.)- I can even believe the Queen connection! There have been many many revelations during the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz years I might have called outrageous or bizarre ten years ago.

The problem is their raging and radical delivery and evidently they've had many years to correct that if they truly meant to convince a majority of our Joe 6-pack population.

I was both, intrigued and put off at the same time.

22. The problem is that ANYTIME you mention a 'cabal'
you have to be very, very careful about how you lead up to that, or Joe Sixpack will look at you like YOU'RE the fruitcake.

I figured in the current climate in this board, where "HOW DARE YOU BASH JESUS HILLARY CHRIST OUR MESSIAH" threads are allowed to remain open to 300 posts or more, but anything critical of these bastards in the DLC who are destroying our party is either deleted or closed as flamebait, people might get the joke.

I wasn't joking about La Rouche being anymore dangerous than From or Marshall though. That much is the absolute truth. And what you said in your post fits them to a "T" or more accurately a "$".

16. Lyndon LaRouche was accused of killing cats.
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 01:55 PM by Douglas Carpenter
LaRouche has moved frequently from extreme conspiracy theory far left to extreme conspiracy theory far right and back agains to extreme conspiracy theory far left.

Here is an interesting article - I would recommend reading the full article by Jeff Perlman as well

link:

http://www.rickross.com/reference/larouche/larouche16.html

snip:

"Yes, cats. A couple of weeks before the 1980 New Hampshire primary, Jonathan Prestage, a reporter with the Manchester Union-Leader, was assigned to profile the various Democratic candidates. Although LaRouche was-at best-a fringe contender, Prestage thought it might be entertaining to meet the man. "He came to the office with 10 people, including these big thugs," recalls Prestage. "When I entered the conference room and began taping, all these guys were standing around, looking intimidating." Midway through the interview, Prestage says he questioned LaRouche about a scathing New York Times article of a few days earlier. "He said that I can't ask him about that, or write about it," Prestage says. "He told me, 'We have ways of making it difficult for people who don't do what we like.'"

In the following day's paper, Prestage's LaRouche piece began with a description of the threat. Two mornings later, Prestage says he rose from bed, walked downstairs and found his two pet kittens hanging from strings on the porch. They were dead.

"It scared the hell out of my wife and kids," says Prestage, who reported the incident to the New Hampshire district attorney's office. No charges were brought. "I had no doubt who did it."

LaRouche denies involvement in the feline affair. ("It was organized crime," he says.) Yet both supporters and detractors agree that a crucial element of his game plan is visual intimidation."

snip:

"On Feb. 7, 1982, Kissinger was walking through Newark Airport, from where he was to fly to Boston to undergo triple-bypass surgery. According to The Record of Bergen County, a LaRouche supporter named Ellen Kaplan tracked Kissinger down and asked him, loudly, "Do you sleep with young boys at the Carlyle Hotel?" "

36. It sounds like a typical LaRouchian tactic
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 09:47 PM by Douglas Carpenter
First time I saw the LaRouche people was at the Oakland Airport in 1979..They had really hateful bumper stickers with slogans like, "Jerry Brown goes down more often than nuclear power plants"---"More people have died in Ted Kennedy's car than in nuclear power plants" and "What spreads faster than radiation? Jane Fonda's legs"

These are REALLY nasty people. But than again so was Henry Kissinger; but with the far less shocking crime of complicity in the genocide of hundreds thousands of people in Viet Vietnam, Cambodia (especially) and Laos.

27. "they are fixed on getting Cheney out of the picture"...
...when they aren't fixed on exposing the Queen of England as leader of a global drug dealing ring.

Many people stand opposed to Cheney's influence on this nation's policy; more important is where they stand.

Some stand in law school libraries; others in the streets. And some stand in padded rooms...assuming they aren't strapped in a bed for their own safety.

FYI, a quick translation of some common words when used by LaRouche: bankers, economics, fascism = anything or anyone involved in Larouche's indictment on IRS fraud.
