Knowing that such worthless (that's too kind) individuals to have actually held positions of power in this country simultaneously gives me hope and leaves me outraged.
It's a hopeful sign for village idiots, skid-row bums, pickpockets, snake oil salesmen, pimps/madames and murderers. Because if the Bush cadre can hold the top offices/appointments in the land, then it means anyone--even those of the indicated questionable occupations/intelligence/offenses must be considered qualified to hold top office as well on the basis of similar character/ability/skills. In other words, if Bush fils can be President, and therefore be considered qualified for the same, so too must a drunken village idiot be considered qualified.
As for the outrage part... it's probably rather obvious, yet in addition to having many causes, I particularly hate what it says about us. Many Americans supported and some even continue to support these people and participated in electing these people, by hook or by crook. They are so completely and utterly base and undeserving of such career success that even the fact that they were considered for their positions--positions of prestige and importance, nationally and internationally, in the government of the United States of America--is an abomination and cause for great shame. That we've been unable to avoid having these people come to power and that we've since been unable to either unseat or remove them shows both how ignorant and how powerless the main factions of American political thought, are (I'll leave it to you to decide which group is willfully ignorant and which is basically powerless thus far). This is bad for many reasons as well, but in particular, it means that it's being allowed for one group to be misled and blinded to the truth by their leadership class (the media being the means to the end), and the other group is being successfully divided and excluded from even participating in the national political system (it's congressment have been forced to go sit in the corner and not allowed to participate). These are states of affairs that shouldn't ever exist in this or any other Democratic Constitutional Republic (the problem resembles "pure" Democracy, otherwise known as absolute majority "Rule").
Our Republic (which everyone has been "trained" to call "Democracy") is currently broken--and if not fixed very soon ('06, or '08 at the latest), it may never recover. Too few seem to realize just how desperately serious the problem is; never being one to overreact is usually the wise choice, but it can lead to becoming conditioned to never respond with urgency (or to fail to recognize when to respond with urgency)--even when urgent, aggressive, dramatic response is required, and the right and necessary choice. I fear that one day we'll wake up and realize that while we all 'felt' terribly concerned, we simply idn't realize how desperate the situation was and failed to react adequately. We all 'saw' it and concluded it was very bad; we all 'considered' it to be very serious; we all 'imagined' that somehow we would fix it; alas, we all "we're wrong". Make no mistake, "This is War!". The Republicans recognize this (hey, they're the ones who've declared it), and act accordingly. In fact, the Reapers treat this as "Total War" (just like World War II wherein even civilians became full and fair game). The response isn't some warm fuzzy slogan like "we'll get them", and it's going to involve alot more than just making a donation or blogging/preaching to the choir.
Ever think "Yes, it's urgent, but I don't know what to do about it and surely the party leadership has a plan and is working on the problem...". Ever think "We'll all get organized next year...". I admit, I have. However, if I admit the truth, I don't actually have proof that our leadership has a plan or is actually working it. I don't know what the plan is. I "hope" we'll get "organized", and definitely by "next year", since in six days, it will be the start of next year... but I don't have any reason to believe that we actually will come together and organize our activities in anything resembling a great enough degree. We need leadership to achieve this, and we all need to recognize that the degree of organization and committment required is going to be greater than most of us have ever before known. We'll all be much happier and less stressed when we do become involved in a pervasive, nation-wide movement (if only for the sense that we're really "doing" something--and have some actual say regarding our destiny).
Anyway, the short answer to you're question of "who will tell Bush..." is: "We should!"
A little (very little-since this topic deserves at least a 50 page report) on what we need to do--once organized anyway...
One key priority once we have both leadership and an inspiring mission statement (in support of an actual "plan"), is to get the millions of people who simply have no involvment in politics to understand how important it is, how "desperately" important it really is. Oh, and I feel it's necessary to mention the obvious: tactically, the most important thing we must do is to obtain control of, or create a new, broadcast network for the "truth" (which, if not synonymous with "liberal view", at least it supports it). Many other items need addressing, some obvious, some not--I'll leave that for another time. Feel free to contribute your own thoughts on what should be done, or otherwise enlighten me as fitting.
