Why did the NY Times sit on the illegal wiretapping story for a YEAR?
christ almighty, there is no way bushit could have survived this news coming out before the election. WTF was the Times thinking? I'm so pissed off about this. Is there anything we can do to the Times?

1. They had to wait until the time was right
After all, it's against the journalistic canon of ethics to raise questions about our popular, war-time president. You weren't naive enough to think that their corporate credo “All the news that’s fit to print” actually means anything once you get inside the door?

4. I look at it another way
Why are they releasing it now? Because one of their reporters is about to have a book out, forcing their hand.

I believe they'd still be sitting on it except for that.

OTOH, maybe they're trying to regain "credibility" after the J Miller mess. But it seems to me admitting they've been sitting on it doesn't help their "credibility."

5. Because they have become a tool.
I still remember they published a Karl Rove produced piece of crap
that the miracle of the exurbs won 04 for bush and that people who
questioned the outcome of the vote were dead end losers who can't
accept reality.

6. Because it might have hurt Bush in the 2004 election.

They electronically stole it anyway.

8. Uh - they have been active participants in war crimes since the start.
The obvious motive for sitting on this story is that it would have made it very difficult to get away with stealing the '04 election.

My list of people who need to go The Hague for trial just keeps growing and growing.

9. They had to wait until they knew for sure if his teflon could be
blown off by the sands of Iraq.... it can, it will, it has. They waited until it was "safe" and they just threw another log on the fire, that is all.

11. Might be time to consider a boycott of advertisers?
