The rule of law...
This administration has been trading on fear for five years.

They spend a lot of time telling you what you have to be afraid of, and why that means they need more power.

But...it now looks like even the power they were granted wasn't enough for this administration.

Paranoid, secretive and power-hungry.

Great.

The idea that this administration is making the argument that the authorization for war in Iraq and Afghanistan is somehow legal grounds for spying on Americans is just fatuous.

This administration will loudly try to make the case that they're just defending us, without ever discussing the possibility that the list of those who they're spying on without warrants is much more likely to look exactly like their political 'enemies list' than a list of actual terrorists.

For all the lip-service Conservatives pay to the 'rule of law', it's funny how hard they work to hamstring the courts, how often they question any judicial check on executive authority.

It's really amazing to me; Conservatives take a lot of time to wax eloquent on morality, but at the end of the day, when it comes to defending their grip on power, they don't seem to know the basic difference between right and wrong.

I can't wait to continue my involvement in "freedom and democracy" by voting these dullards the hell out of office.
