Froomkin calls for WaPo impeachment poll! Gasp!
Yesterday we had the polling director of The Washington Post in a major snit in a WaPo online chat over the e-mails he's been getting asking for a poll question regarding impeachment of Bush. He was furious and furiouser.

Today, Froomkin (was this a smackdown?) writes this:

Liberal bloggers are pointing to, and stacking the results of, this entirely unscientific poll on MSNBC. "Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment?" Last I checked "Yes, between the secret spying, the deceptions leading to war and more, there is plenty to justify putting him on trial" was winning 87 to 12.

Perhaps a scientific poll is called for.

Go Dan Froomkin!

2. Good and bad...

I wouldn't go so far as to cheer him on though... He's mocking the MSNBC poll because he -- what an asshat -- believes it is being slanted by -- gasp! -- liberal bloggers!!! I can't say that I disagree with him on that point as there is no way to verify such a thing, and so his argument is dead on its face because it cannot be proven one way or another. However, the tone of his words make me want to hurl. :puke: We should have a thoroughly scientific poll on this matter, or, better yet, a national recall election. The Constitution doesn't forbid it specifically....

3. I like the idea of a Recall Election very much - we had one in California
:toast:

Why can't we have one for the nation?

after all, 2004 was stolen just as 2000 was... :grr:

5. I love the idea myself...
I wish like hell that it could be done, because there is no doubt in my mind -- if conducted fairly -- that Bush would have his ass handed to him on a platter. I will say that it is one amendment I would LOVE to see polished up and added to the Constitution.

6. Careful What you wish for....
That kind of thing could come back to bite the Democrats in the ass. Just think when a Democrat is in office and weakened through a set of circumstances, with the right PR campaign the repukes could pull off their own recall. Also, what happens when we vote out too many presidents too soon. The instability could be damaging to the nation. Yes, I am the first one who would love to see this shit bag of president booted in the ass, but we just better think this through tempting as it is.

7. In that, the Venezuelan system is quite good.
Only one chance for recall -- right in the middle of a 6-year term. No risk of Italian-style revolving-door madness. Most amazing, that was suggested by the man who had more to lose from it.

8. Yeah right
I've seen "scientific polls" before. Some of these are worded so as to skew. Do our media have real integrity?

10. If there is a trial, can we have a cage, like Saddam's?
