So, he can do it. Conservatives are trying to paint us as favoring a weak response to Sept. 11th and it's just not true.

5. Letterman has totally redeemed himself

in my eyes.

I had a slight problem with his show for a while, but he is a die-hard supporter of the left. His guests are often wonderful liberals and he really helps them get the message out.

hiding. Except for a couple, most are under their desks hoping it will all blow over. Either that or hoping there will be a little pie left after the republicans get done. I am disgusted with the lack of outrage from Clinton, Kerry, and other major Demo's.

and power than most of them.

Letterman and Leno are probably the two most influential people in media if you think about it.

If you are the butt of their jokes it's like Jon Stewart (who is usually funnier and more observant) but 50 x worse because of the audience size.

Your average Congressman or Senator does not have the national media access that Letterman or Leno get. Very few do other than the President, the nightly news anchors and the late night comedians. A Presidential candidate after the primaries gets this kind of coverage as well.

So the moral of the story is don't make Letterman mad.

My very liberal hubby is a big fan, and he has been telling about how, recently, Letterman has just skewered * night after night.
