What would you do differently if you were in the US Senate.....?
than what our present Senators are doing? Would you be more outspoken? And about what? And would you be branded as a gadfly with no credibility by the media? What kind of Senator would you be? :)

3. When Clinton looked as if he had a chance...
...back in 91, the GOP immediately convened to pool resources and create "task forces" whose sole purpose was to take Clinton down, remove him from office, spoil his agenda. They did not relent for ONE SINGLE DAY throughout his presidency. They were single-minded and dedicated in their attempts. They created an environment that allowed their fungus to fester and thrive, with talk media and cable news. They sensationalized everything and repeated every lie ad naseum. It didn't take him down, but it sure as hell influenced his agenda and forced him to marginalize the Democratic base.

Hell, Dole called him an illegitimate President. Why the hell are we playing nice with these criminal cretins? Cheney and Rumsfeld were the guys that MADE Saddam, and fucked everything up. Why the hell are we letting THEM even pretend to clean up the mess they created? If you owned a company, would YOU retain executives that performed this poorly?

4. Probably...
I'd be far too outspoken to maintain any semblance of credibility... especially over a dictator reducing civil liberties and ripping the heart out of the constitution. You know, sometimes doing the right thing is tough on the ole public image.

5. I would be the greatest Senator in U.S. History.
Edited on Thu Dec-22-05 07:52 PM by Botany
But then again I am a very humble person.
I would staff the office w/ college coeds wearing hot outfits
but then again I am not sexist.
I would pass a law that would be give me an Island off S.E. Alaska (rain forest, rainbow trout, salmon, king crab
and halibut)
because I care for the land.
I would get 50 yd line & 40 rows up tickets to Ohio State Football Games
Because I want to connect w/ the people
I would hold winter conferences in Vermont, Idaho, Utah. Colorado, & New Mexico
but it would be because I want to work.
I would staff different offices around D.C. w/ Family, friends, & lovers (10% kick backs of course)
because I am a giving person.
I would have a cabin outside of Athens, OH for private parties and paid off local law folks to
keep those snooping eyes away when I have my fall in Ohio .... hot tub and wine parties
because I am all about "the love."
And lastly I would make W's work patten look like a lot
because I want to work for my "people."

I would also have Keith Olbermann as my press secretary
and Stephanie :loveya: Miller as my chief of staff.

7. I'd be a pain in the ass
I give the Republicans hell and mince no words with my Democratic colleagues either if I thought they were selling out. Paul Wellstone would be my role model.

10. I'd do the right thing & po everyone and likely lose my seat next time
I've done that at every job i've had. Half the time, it's worked out and I got promoted and the other half of the time - I was forced to resign.
